BEC-301 PC backsheet features a 305 µm µm PET core with 5 µm coating, 1.8 g/m²/d WVTR, and 100 MPa tensile strength
BEC-301D includes a 285 µm PET layer with 15 µm air-side coating and 120 MPa tensile strength
Both models are available in white and black, offer reflectivity up to 75%, and provide a tear strength of 80 N/mm
Hangzhou First has shared details for 2 PET-based non-fluoropolymer backsheets in the TaiyangNews Backsheets and Encapsulation Market Survey 2024/25. The products, BEC-301 PC and BEC-301D, combine PET cores with non-fluorinated coatings and are offered in white and black variants for various module applications.
The 2-layer BEC-301D backsheet comes with 305 µm PET thickness and 5 µm coating. It is rated with dimensional stability as well as shrinkages of less than 0.5% in both directions, a partial discharge of 1,500 V, and a water vapor permeability of 1.8 g/m²/d. This anti-UV PET backsheet has a weight of 420 g/m², with a tensile strength of 100 MPa and an elongation of 100% in both MD and TD directions. The white model offers a reflectivity of 75% within the 400 to 700 nm range.
BEC-301D, which was listed in our previous survey, now varies in specifications. This updated backsheet comes with an increased thickness of 305 µm, up from 300 µm previously. The coating on the cell side remains at 5 µm, while the thickness of the PET layer has been increased to 285 µm and the air side coating is reduced to 15 µm. Available in white or black with a matte surface finish, the BEC-301D measures 1,360 mm in width and weighs 410 g/m². Its specifications include a tensile strength of 120 MPa in both the MD and TD directions and a tear strength of 80 N/mm in both directions. The backsheet has a breakdown voltage of 20 kV for a partial discharge rating of 1,500 V DC.
