  • Satinal's STRATO product range includes POE and TPO films in clear, white, black, and high light-transmittance versions

  • POE films from the company offer 6 MPa tensile strength and a UV cut-off at 300 nm

  • TPO films provide over 18 MPa tensile strength, re-lamination capability, and require no crosslinking

Satinal, an Italy-based supplier, contributes a diverse set of non-EVA encapsulation products to the TaiyangNews Backsheets and Encapsulation Market Survey 2024/25. The company offers POE- and TPO-based films under its STRATO product line, covering a variety of applications and module sides. The range includes clear, HLT, white, and black versions, supporting ultra-fast curing and resistance to PID.

These films are used on various sides of standard PV modules, with clear or white/black colors and embossed surface finishes. With a thickness range of 450-500 µm and a standard width of 2,400 mm, these films exhibit tensile strengths of 6 MPa, elongation of over 1,000%, and shrinkage of less than 3% at 150°C / 30 minutes. They also have excellent adhesive strengths to glass and backsheet of > 100 N/cm. The clear variants have a light transmittance of 91% and a UV cut-off at 300 nm.

The STRATO TPO Solar PV and STRATO TPO Solar PV HLT films are made from TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin), offering PID resistance and similar mechanical properties. These films boast tensile strengths of over 18 MPa, with uniform lamination performance and the ability to be remelted for re-laminating modules with defects. The films from Satinal do not require crosslinking, eliminating the need for long lamination times.

Made in Italy, these products have a low carbon footprint and are available across Europe. The films are packaged in moisture-proof packaging, with storage conditions of max 30°C and < 50% RH, and a shelf life of 9 months.
