Sharp Energy Solutions Europe has launched a new 410 W monocrystalline PERC silicon solar PV panel as part of its half-cut cell portfolio using white backsheet and a black frame, targeting it for distributed generation installations and 'design-oriented customers'.

Called NU-JC410B, the new module has a power conversion efficiency of 21% and is based on M10 (182mm) wafer sized 108 half-cells with 1722mm x1134mm dimensions. Sharp has used round ribbons with 10 busbar technology that helps improve power gain from each cell. This also makes cells less sensitive to microcracks.

The module has low temperature coefficient of -0.341%/°C. This allows it to perform better at high ambient temperatures which as Sharp says is 'becoming increasingly important because of climate change and the resulting rise in temperatures'.

Like its other products in the half-cell modules, this one also has 3 small junction boxes and each fitted with one bypass diode. These boxes transfer less heat to the cells thereby increasing the life of solar panels and improving efficiency.

The panel weighs 20.7 kg and has a height of 30mm, which the company says makes it easy to install for residential, small scale commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop system installation and system integration, bringing down its overall costs.

Compliant with IEC61215 and IEC61730 standards, the solar panel has original MC4 connector that makes it compatible with most mainstream optimizers, inverters and mounting systems, it added.

Sharp is offering a 15-year product and 25-year performance guarantee for NU-JC10B with a minimum of 85% in year 2025 for its users in the European Union (EU) and other countries.

"With the new black-framed half-cut cell NU-JC410B panel, we are expanding our product portfolio with a module for easy handling and installation for residential and small-scale C&I rooftop installations, which offers high performance and reliability," said EMEA Sales Director for Sharp Energy Solutions Europe, Andrew Lee.

The launch follows the addition of 410W and 400W half-cut cell modules to its portfolio in January 2022 (see Sharp Launches New PERC Solar Panels).
