China's integrated solar PV production company LONGi Solar has launched a zero busbar (ZBB) solar panel with 'no visible' busbars, with maximum module efficiency reaching up to 22.2% and power output of 400W. It uses half-cut cells.
Due to ZBB technology, its Onyx modules are able to generate a good amount of electricity with maximum light capture and low reflection, lower power degradation and better irradiation performance, according to the company.
The new module series called Hi-RO Onyx, based on LONGi's proprietary monocrystalline wafers, is aimed for all rooftop applications in the residential segment for European homes. The Onyx series has 2 monofacial variants, one with 390W full black version (HTB), complementing typical European rooftops, and the other standard version with white backsheet having up to 400W output.
LONGi offers 25 years product warranty for Onyx modules that will be available in the Netherlands and Northern Europe at launch.
"Hi-RO Onyx is a new product in LONGi portfolio built from the ground up for distributed generation segments with premium features," said LONGi Solar's Senior Vice President, Dennis She. "LONGi Solar now has a full-range product portfolio consisting of Hi-MO 4, Hi-MO 5, Hi MO N and the new Hi-RO Onyx, with each product series optimized for different application scenarios."
This release follows LONGi's 66 cell Hi-MO 4 monofacial solar PV module launch for global residential, C&I distributed generation market in February 2021 (see New 66 Cell Hi-MO4 Monofacial Module By LONGi).
