The Government of Portugal has launched a tender for 263 MW floating solar PV capacity to be established by interested bidders on 7 dams in the country, the largest of which with 100 MW capacity will come up on Alqueva Dam.
Announcing the auction on November 24, 2021 live on YouTube, the government said remaining capacity will be divided for other dams as 50 MW for Castelo de Bode, 33 MW for Cabril dam, 42 MW for Alto Rabagao, 17 MW for Tabuaco, 13 MW for Paradela, and 8 MW for Salamonde.
Last date to submit proposals was mentioned as January 29, 2022. Auction announcement can be found on the YouTube channel of General Secretariat of the Ministry of Environment.
Auction details will be available for bidders who register on the government's renewable auction website https://leiloes-renovaveis.gov.pt/.
Back in November 2019, EDIA Portugal was looking for EPC contractors for 50 MW floating solar capacity to be established on 10 sites for local power consumption of Alqueva Dam Pumping Stations (see 50 MW Floating Solar Power Plant In Portugal).
