KAPP has launched the RFP round for the Al Dibdibah and Shagaya Phase III solar project
It seeks proposals from the 6 consortia and companies selected in the pre-qualifying round
For the selected developer, the scope of work includes setting up the solar power plant along with a transmission substation
The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Project (KAPP) has opened the request for proposals (RFP) round from pre-qualified bidders for 1.1 GW solar energy capacity in Kuwait.
It seeks this capacity to be installed as Al Dibdibah Power and Al Shagaya Renewable Energy—Phase III, Zone 1 package. KAPP had selected 6 consortia and companies in the pre-qualifying round in August 2024.
The selected consortia are led by ACWA Power, Masdar, Jinko Power, and EDF Renouvelables, while TotalEnergies Renewables and Trung Nam Construction Investment Corp applied as individual applicants (see Kuwait Shortlists 6 Applicants For 1.1 GW Solar PV Tender).
The winner’s broad scope of work will be development, financing, design, supply, and commissioning, along with the construction of a 400 kV substation. The last date to submit proposals is September 14, 2025.
A month ago, in May 2025, KAPP invited bids for the pre-qualifying round for 500 MW PV capacity for Phase III Zone 2 of the Al Dibdibah and Al Shagaya Renewable Energy Project (see Kuwait Opens Call For 500 MW Solar PV Capacity).
