NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has launched a tender for the balance of system (BOS) package for the development of a 900 MW grid-connected solar PV project in India.

NTPC REL, the renewable energy arm of India’s state-owned utility NTPC Limited, says this capacity will be deployed in 3 lots of 300 MW each at Fatehgarh in Rajasthan.

The broad scope of work for contractors includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing and commissioning the solar PV plant, excluding the supply of solar PV modules.

Work also involves the design, construction and erection of the tracker-based module mounting structure (MMS), including the fixing of PV modules and ensuring PV module interconnection.

NTPC REL published the call on March 27, 2025. The last date to submit bids is May 7, 2025.

While NTPC REL’s tender does not specify any more details about this tender, solar module manufacturer Waaree Energies had previously announced a 900 MW solar module supply deal with Serentica Renewables India Private Limited. These are to be deployed for a project in Fatehgarh in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer (see India Solar PV News Snippets).
