Waaree's 900 MW module deal: Waaree Energies has secured a solar module supply deal for 900 MW capacity from Serentica Renewables India Private Limited. These will be installed in what Waaree terms as one of India's largest solar power plants. The project is coming up in Fatehgarh, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Waaree will supply its Elite Series N Type Topcon BiN-03-680 to 690Wp GTG Bifacial modules under the contract.

DERC's P2P guidelines: The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has issued Peer to Peer Energy Transaction Guidelines 2024 to promote the use of renewable energy in the state of Delhi. Peer-to-Peer or P2P energy trading will enable eligible prosumers to mutually sell and purchase electricity in a secure and reliable manner. It will also promote the embedded generation within the distribution network, while generating additional avenues of income for prosumers, according to DERC. Eligible prosumers will opt to transact energy using an online platform of the service provider or through the distribution licensee within its area of supply. The renewable energy system's installed capacity will be capped at 500% of its sanctioned load. Eligible consumers and prosumers will be able to avail the benefits of any one of the virtual net metering, group net metering and P2P metering arrangements at any time.

KEC's solar PV win: An RPG Group company KEC International Ltd. has announced securing new orders worth INR 1,017 crore ($121.7 million). This includes a balance of system (BOS) package of a 625 MW solar PV project in Rajasthan. The EPC company did not name the client but called it a subsidiary of a reputed public sector undertaking (PSU) in the renewable energy space. KEC's MD & CEO Vimal Kejriwal said this solar PV order gives the firm confidence that renewable EPC business will contribute significantly to its future growth. The other order is for EPC and supply of towers for transmission and distribution (T&D) in the Middle East.

NHPC's 200 MW PPA: Indian state-owned utility NHPC Limited has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for a 200 MW solar power plant. The project is to come up within Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited's (GSECL) renewable energy park at Khavda under stage 3. NHPC estimates the project to cost around INR 846.66 crore ($101.3 million). It targets to complete the project within 15 months from the date of execution of the PPA.

Additionally, Jakson Green has announced signing a PPA with NHPC for a 400 MW solar PV plant that expands the former's IPP portfolio to 1 GW.

350 MW order for Premier: Indian solar cell and module producer Premier Energies Limited (PEL) has secured a 350 MW module supply agreement with Apraava Energy. The latter plans to deploy these modules for its greenfield solar project in Rajasthan.

Solar-powered carpark: Electric vehicle (EV) chargers and solar solutions company Servotech Power Systems has inaugurated Delhi's 1st grid-connected solar-powered EV charging carport. Installed in collaboration with the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) at Hauz Khas Village Parking Station, the solar panels and EV chargers used have been manufactured, designed and commissioned by Servotech. The company says this PV carport introduces a new business model for discoms and business operators. It can fast charge 2- and 4-wheelers in under an hour, facilitating efficient delivery services in inner-city and confined spaces. The Chief Guest at the event was the German Ambassador to India and Bhutan, Dr. Philipp Ackermann. This pilot project is supported by the German non-profit Sequa GmbH.
