  • The World Bank is seeking consultants for an up to 400 MW solar and storage project in Tunisia

  • It will comprise a technical study and scoping report on the optimal configuration of the project

  • The analysis will help the bank inform the Tunisian government in the procurement of solar parks

The World Bank has launched a call for interested consultants to conduct a technical study for a 350 MW to 400 MW solar and battery storage project in Tunisia.

The selected consultant will provide recommendations on the optimal configuration of the solar plant, suggesting the solar as well as storage technologies to be used, along with the capacity of the storage component.

The broad scope of work includes preparing a scoping report and the timeline for the project work until completion. The analysis submitted by the consultant will enable the World Bank to better inform the Tunisian government in the procurement of solar parks.

It will also contribute to the broader dialogue at the bank on structuring hybrid power purchase agreements (PPA).

The call was launched on March 17, 2025, and the last date to submit an expression of interest (EOI) is March 24, 2025.

Earlier this year, in January 2025, Tunisia launched a 200 MW AC solar PV tender as part of the country’s target to integrate 35% renewable energy in its total power mix by 2030 (see Tunisia Launches 200 MW AC Solar PV Tender).
