Nextpower Arabia targets 12 GW of capacity to support solar tracker and energy solutions for projects in Saudi Arabia and across MENA
A manufacturing plant is under construction in Jeddah on a 42,000 m² site and is expected to start operations in Q2 2026
The JV plans to create up to 2,000 jobs and source materials such as Saudi-made steel to strengthen local manufacturing and the supply chain
Nextpower (formerly Nextracker) and Abunayyan Holding have completed the incorporation of their joint venture, Nextpower Arabia, in Saudi Arabia. The new company will support the deployment of Nextpower’s solar tracking and energy technology solutions across Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, it stated.
The JV, headquartered in Riyadh, will also establish a solar tracker manufacturing facility in Jeddah with an annual capacity of 12 GW. The fab is currently under construction on a 42,000 m² site.
It will create up to 2,000 jobs in the country by also boosting the local supply chain. Nextpower says it will source core materials such as Saudi-produced steel through its strategic partners and support local manufacturing.
“Our manufacturing facility represents the first step in our strategic vision to strengthen and localize the solar supply chain for our partners across the MENA region and enhance collaboration to deliver highly efficient and cost-effective clean energy,” said Abunayyan Holding CEO and Nextpower Arabia Chairman and CEO Turki Al-Amri.
When it becomes operational in Q2 2026, it will provide advanced tracker systems, yield management, and control solutions for large-scale projects in the region. Abunayyan brings its regional experience in the operation of critical water and energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and MENA to the table.
Nextpower had earlier announced plans for the Abunayyan JV before rebranding from Nextracker (see Nextracker Announces Saudi Arabia JV As Backlog Exceeds $5 Billion).
It rebranded to Nextpower in November 2025 to signal its evolution into a full-scale solar technology platform (see Nextpower Emerges As Nextracker’s Next Growth Phase).
Nextpower will be competing for market share with other competitors who have already entered the Saudi Arabian market, like TrinaTracker and its compatriot GameChange Solar (see GameChange Solar Doubling Saudi Arabia Output To 6 GW).
