Akcome to sell part of 400 MW power station to Fujian SPIC: Akcome Technology announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Suzhou Zhongkang Power and its shareholding company Akcome Energy have signed a letter of intent with State Power Investment Group Fujian New Energy Co., Ltd. for transfer parts of 400 MW photovoltaic power plant capacity. Under this agreement, Fujian State Power Investment will purchase 160 MW high-efficiency heterojunction HJT modules from Suzhou Akcome in Jinzhou Zhongkang, 60 MW of the grid parity project, and 100 MW of the Liaoning Jiahong project.
LONGi to build a 5 GW monocrystalline cell production line in Yinchuan: Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi, in an announcement, said that its wholly-owned subsidiary LONGi Solar and Yinchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee have signed an investment agreement for an annual output of a 5 GW monocrystalline cell manufacturing line for approximately RMB 3.1 billion ($0.48 billion) (including working capital) that is expected to be put into operation in 2022. Last year, LONGi had expanded its monocrystalline solar cell production capacity by 10 GW with a production line in Qujing region of Yunnan province in the country through its wholly owned subsidiary (see LONGi To Build 10 GW Cell Production Line In Qujing). LONGi is dramatically expanding its production capacities along the value chain – from wafers to modules.
TrendForce says polycrystalline prices go up: Market research company EnergyTrend of TrendForce released its latest quotations on polycrystalline materials in China, showing that the price has continued to rise from RMB 64 ($9.84) per kg to RMB 67 ($10.30) per kg, an increase of 4.69%. The latest global average price of polysilicon materials was pegged at RMB 87.9 (13.5) per kg, an increase of 2.67% from last week’s RMB 85.87 (13.2) per kg.
Solar power generation increase from Jan to Feb 2021: National Bureau of Statistics: Releasing its energy production report for January-February 2021, the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics said that electricity production has grown rapidly year-on-year. Solar power generation rose by 25.8% month-on-month, an average increase of 18.7% year on year.
