LONGi Solar secures 500 MW orders from Pakistan: Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi Solar confirmed that the sale of solar modules to Pakistan for 2021 has reached 500 MW. The majority of the products are its Hi-MO 5 series modules, that account for 422 MW of the total (84.4%). LONGi has secured a number of notable clients and projects in the country, including an order from Reon Energy for Pakistan’s largest commercial solar project to date at 70MW. This project will use its Hi-MO 5 product with 540/545 W and will be completed in four clusters, with an estimated commercial operation date in Q3 2021. Other notable LONGi clients in the country include the Four Brothers Group, which has signed a 68 MW distribution agreement for orders to be completed in Q2 and Q3 2021, NMC Group, and numerous other developers and installers of megawatt-level commercial projects in Pakistan. Many of these developers will be using the Hi-MO 5 series of modules.
Tongwei 210mm cell price reduced by RMB 0.13/W: In a recent announcement, solar cell manufacturer Tongwei released the price list for solar cells in April. Except for polycrystalline cells, which rose by RMB 0.01/W ($0. 0015/W), prices of monocrystalline products were reduced across the board. Among them, the price of 210 mm cell has been reduced by RMB 0.13/W ($0.020/W), the price of 166mm cell is reduced by RMB 0.14/W ($0.021/W), and the price of 158.75mm cell is reduced by RMB 0.02/W (($0.0030/W).
LONGi announces latest silicon wafer prices: LONGi recently announced the pricing of silicon wafers for April. The wafer prices remain the same as that of March 15. Among them, the price of M6 170μm thickness wafers is RMB 3.75/piece ($0.57/piece), the price of G1 (170μm thickness) products is RMB 3.65/piece ($0.56/piece), and the price of M10 (thickness 175μm) is RMB 4.56/piece ($0.69/piece). The January prices of their domestic M6 (166mm), M10 (182mm), G1 (158.75mm) size silicon wafer quotations were at RMB 3.25/piece ($0.5/piece), RMB 3.90/piece ($0.6/piece), and RMB 3.15 /piece ($0.49/piece), respectively (see China PV News Snippets: Trina, LONGi, JA)
Energy China Group signs strategic agreement for a ‘million-kW’ energy base: Energy China Group and the People’s Government of Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province signed a framework agreement for strategic cooperation in the fields of ‘million-kilowatt’ energy base, infrastructure and ecology. As per the agreement, Energy China Group will promote the development and construction of a million-kilowatt integrated energy base (including integrated projects of 500 MW PV, 500 MW wind power, energy storage, charging piles, hydrogen energy, etc.) in Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang. The total investment of the project is about RMB 12 billion ($1.83 billion).
Ancai Hi-Tech 2020 annual report released: Announcing its 2020 results, Chinese manufacturer and seller of glass products Ancai Hi-Tech reported that its total turnover in 2020 was RMB 2.291 billion ($0.35 billion), a year-on-year increase of 13.61%. The turnover of photovoltaic glass was RMB 1.032 billion ($0.16 billion), a year-on-year increase of 74.69%, and the gross profit margin was 27.72%. During the reporting period, the company’s solar glass business capacity scale increased from 250t/d to 900t/d. At present, the company is accelerating the construction of its subsidiary Jiaozuo Ancai’s solar glass production project with an annual output of 180,000 tons.
