Zhongli & China Huadian sign cooperation agreement: Solar module supplier Zhongli Group announced signing a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Huadian Corporation Hebei Branch to develop the 'new energy market' in Hebei Province. They plan to cooperate on developing PV plants, EPC, and investments. Together with the local government they target over 2.5 GW of PV power plants and distributed projects throughout the county. Recently, Zhongli, parent company of cell/module maker Talesun, had signed a cooperation agreement with SPIC Jiangsu New Energy to launch a new joint venture for developing solar projects (see China PV News Snippets: Yijun, GCL-SI, JYT, Zhongli, Mindong)

Maxwell to raise RMB 2.8 bn to invest in HJT solar cell project: Chinese Solar cell production equipment maker Suzhou Maxwell Technologies shared plans to raise about RMB 2.8 billion ($0.43 billion) for investment in its industrialization project for heterojunction (HJT) solar cell equipment. It plans to build the factory in Suzhou City within 3 years. Production capacity will be about 40 complete HJT cell lines per year, translating into annual sales revenue of RMB 6 billion ($0.93 billion). In May, Maxwell achieved 25.05% efficiency for a commercial style M6-size HJT solar cell (see 25.05% Record Efficiency For HJT M6 Solar Cell)

Sungrow partners with China Gezhouba: Solar PV inverter supplier Sungrow has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Gezhouba Group Equipment Industry, which has been developing solar, energy storage and hydrogen projects. Both companies want to team up to develop products and cooperate in these 3 segments – PV power station construction, solar hydrogen production, and electrochemical energy storage. In March 2021, China Gezhouba and Sungrow had signed a contract for 3 PV power plants in Myanmar (see China PV News Snippets: China Gezhouba, Jinko, Arctech)

Northwest Power to invest RMB 10 bn in clean energy projects: China Energy Construction Group Northwest Power Construction Engineering has big plans for renewable power generation projects in Pinglu County, Shanxi Province. It wants to develop 100 MW PV systems in the farming sector, 120 MW combined PV and fishing projects, 175 MW distributed solar systems, 200 MW pumped storage power generation capacity. and subsequent 1 GW agri-PV projects. The company plans to invest about RMB 10 billion ($1.55 billion) over the next 5 years in these projects.

Guangdong Electric & Huangnan Tibetan partner for 3 GW PV power generation project: In an announcement, Guangdong Electric Power Development said that it has signed a cooperation agreement with the People's Government of Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province to invest in the development of a 3 GW PV power generation project there. The total investment of the project is estimated to be around RMB 12 billion ($1.86 billion).
