Astronergy gets ISO 14064 & ISO 14067 certification from BSI: Solar module manufacturer Astronergy has received the ISO 14064 greenhouse gas verification certification and ISO 14067 product carbon footprint certification from BSI. The ISO 14064 verification results showed that the company's operational carbon emission intensity in 2022 reduced 27.65% from 2021. The results from ISO 14067 showed that 80% of the product carbon footprint was accounted for by the raw material – the cells. Also, the module production stage made up at least 97% of the product carbon footprint.

Astronergy recently announced that it has won a bid for Section 2 of Huadian Corporation's 3rd batch of centralized procurement for photovoltaic modules in 2023. This win takes its total 2023 bid wins from Huadian Corporation to over 4 GW (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Safety Group subsidiary to supply 4.5 GW TOPCon cells to Phono Solar: Anhui Meidalun, a Jiangsu Safety Group subsidiary, has announced the signing of a sales contract with Phono Solar. According to the contract, the company will supply 4.5 GW of TOPCon monocrystalline cells to Phono Solar from December 19, 2023 to December 31, 2026. Product prices shall be based on the corresponding transaction amount of the order signed by both parties under this contract.

Jinenu Solar's Qianshan base rolls out 1st TOPCon module: Customized manufacturer of PV modules Jinenu Solar has commissioned its 3 GW high-efficiency PV module manufacturing facility at its Qianshan base. The occasion was marked by the rollout of the 1st TOPCon module from the facility. The company has invested a total of RMB 1.05 billion ($146.9 million) in the 150-acre facility. The fab is capable of producing both n-type and p-type modules and can be customized to produce 400-700 W+ high-power, large-size PV module products.

7.4 GW of solar PV projects in Ningxia's development plan: The Development and Reform Commission of Ningxia Autonomous Region has released its solar PV power station development plan for 2023. A total of 17 projects have been included in the 2023 development and construction agenda for solar PV power station projects, with a combined capacity of 7.418 GW. The portfolio consists of 2 national large-scale PV base projects with a cumulative capacity of 3 GW. It also consists of 4 market-oriented grid-connected projects with a total capacity of 1.5 GW. The remaining 11 projects collectively contribute 2.918 GW to the overall plan. Each municipality is required to coordinate with the filing process and commence construction within a 6-month period effective from the issuance date of this plan.

1st batch of Guizhou Jinyuan Weining Phase III grid-connected: As part of the 1st batch of the 3rd phase of Guizhou Jinyuan Weining GW-level new energy base, 420 MW of solar PV projects have been successfully connected to the grid. The project, developed and constructed by SPIC subsidiary Guodian Guizhou Jinyuan Weining Energy Company, involves a total investment of RMB 1.68 billion ($235.3 million). It consists of 5 agricultural PV projects located separately in Weineng Hailahaiyuan, Yulong Changpoyuanzi, Yancang Quanmayazi, Yancang Dadi Pingzi, and Yancang Laoya Ying. Once fully operational, it is expected to generate 500 GWh annually, saving about 160,000 tons of standard coal and 500,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
