DAH Solar receives EUPD SolarProsumer Award; Trina Storage partners with Low Carbon for 190 MW UK ESS project; JA Solar’s modules for Yanzhou FPV project; Huasun’s 300 MW PV plant grid-connected in Dali; Jolywood postpones plans for 300,000-ton silicon fab.

DAH Solar receives EUPD SolarProsumer Award: PV module developer and manufacturer DAH Solar has announced that it has received the EUPD Research SolarProsumer Award for Austria. The company says that over 5,000 power stations across Europe have chosen its Full-Screen PV Modules. As a pioneer in frameless modules, it says that its widespread reputation among prosumers helped in achieving this feat. Prosumers are those who produce their own solar energy and consume it equally.

Recently, DAH Solar announced achieving 26.5% average mass production efficiency for a TOPCon cell (see Chinese Company Touts ‘New Record’ TOPCon Efficiency).

Trina Storage signs up with Low Carbon for 190 MW UK ESS project: Trina Storage, the storage segment of Trina Solar, has signed a 190 MW liquid-cooled energy storage system supply agreement with independent power generator Low Carbon. The deal involves supplying Trina Storage Elementa energy storage systems and solutions for Low Carbon’s solar power plants, including Meadow, Sandon Brook, Fern Brook, and Birch in the UK. Low Carbon will install the Elementa 0.5 P (2-hour storage) liquid-cooled storage battery cabinets to provide energy time-shifting, capacity services, and frequency regulation for the local grid.

Recently, Trina Storage announced that it has been ranked among the global top 5 storage providers and integrators by BloombergNEF (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

JA Solar’s PV modules powering Yanzhou FPV project: The Yanzhou Phase I 250 MW floating solar PV project, located in Jining City, Shandong Province, has been connected to the grid. The project incorporates 168 MW of JA Solar’s n-type double-glass high-efficiency bifacial modules. Constructed on subsided coal mining areas, the project utilizes a combination of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) floating solar systems and fixed structure systems. JA Solar’s n-type modules were chosen for their excellent resistance to PID and corrosion and their performance in humid conditions. These modules have passed long-term reliability and environmental adaptability tests.

Recently, JA Solar was one of the winners of CR Power’s n-type module tender (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Huasun’s 300 MW solar plant grid-connected in Dali Prefecture: Huasun has announced the grid-connection of a 300 MW solar PV project in the Dali Prefecture area of Yunnan Province. The project, which uses the company’s Himalaya G12-132 HJT modules, is located in the Dali Prefecture and surrounding counties. It is part of the 10 GW planned capacity during the 14th Five-Year (2021-2025) Plan period. The current capacity both under development and completed stands at 4 GW, contributing 300 MW to the grid.

Jolywood to postpone 300,000-ton silicon manufacturing facility: Jolywood has announced an update on the progress of important projects. According to the announcement, the company has indefinitely postponed its construction plans for the 200,000-ton industrial silicon and 100,000 tons of high-purity silicon manufacturing facility. The company cites the current situation in the photovoltaic upstream silicon material market.
