TÜV Rheinland certification for Risen's HJT 210 solar cells; Trina to buy 1.3B TOPCon cells from Mingr; Runergy's modules get CSI SpA Class 1 fire certification; Akcome wins China Huaneng mounting systems bid; Astronergy signs cooperation agreement with 3 companies.

Risen Energy's HJT 210 solar cells TÜV Rheinland certified: Solar cell and module manufacturer Risen Energy has announced that it has secured TÜV Rheinland certification for its heterojunction (HJT) 210 solar cells. Risen Energy stated that its HJT Hyper-ion modules, made with these cells, passed all IEC performance and reliability tests while also undergoing triple IEC61215 & 61730 enhanced tests and certification. Claiming it is the 1st HJT cell certification from TÜV Rheinland, Risen says that the product performed well throughout the test cycle. In addition, it claims a carbon footprint of less than 400 kg eq CO2/kWc for these modules.

Risen is one of the 10 HJT solar module manufacturers in China that have established a club to promote high efficiency HJT panels with 740 W+ output (see 10 Leading HJT Module Producers Establish China Photovoltaic Solar Efficiency 740W+ Club).

Trina Solar to purchase 1.3B TOPCon cells from MINGR: Trina Solar has signed a cell purchase framework agreement with Lunisolar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of jewelry maker MINGR. As per the agreement, Trina Solar and its 4 subsidiaries will purchase about 1.3 billion pieces of 210 TOPCon bifacial solar cells from Lunisolar between 2024 and 2026. Based on the current market prices (calculated using the latest average cell price announced by InfoLink Consulting), the contract is worth approximately RMB 5.8 billion ($808.3 million).

Last month, Trina Solar reported a 33.46% YoY increase in FY2023 revenues (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Runergy's solar modules receive Class 1 Fire Certification in Italy: Solar PV manufacturer Runergy has announced that its entire series of double-glass solar modules has passed the Italian UNI 9177 series of standard tests. As a result, the company has secured a Class 1 fire certification from CSI S.p.A. A Class 1 certification from this EU-authorized professional certification and testing institution represents the highest grade in Italian fire standards. Runergy says these double-glass modules cover the entire series of solar modules utilizing PERC, n-type (including TOPCon and HJT).

Akcome Metals wins Huaneng's 2024-2025 PV mounting structure bid: China Huaneng Group has announced Akcome Metals, the mounting system manufacturing arm of Akcome Technology, as the winner of its 2024-2025 photovoltaic mounting structure procurement bid. As part of this win, Akcome Metals will provide its Mountain-fit ground mounting system for the project.

Astronergy signs strategic cooperation agreement with 3 companies: PV module manufacturer Astronergy has announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Meike, Shuangliang Silicon Materials, and Lihao Semiconductor. As part of the agreement, the 4 companies aim to build a green supply chain and improve the green development level of the PV industry. The companies have also committed to promoting terminal module products to maximize coverage of the global market, and promoting global sustainable development.

Last month, Astronergy reported that its 4.0 version TOPCon solar cells have achieved 26.9% efficiency in R&D trial production (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
