Stefan Nowak To Step Down As Chairman IEA PVPS TCP, To Be Replaced By French Solar PV & Solar Thermal Technology Expert Daniel Mugnier

The International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (IEA PVPS) is changing its leadership at the very top with its Chairman for almost 20 years, Stefan Nowak resigning from the position. He will be replaced by Daniel Mugnier who has been elected as the new chairman.

One of the global PV world’s most respected collaborative R&D agency conducting joint projects among the PV community of 32 member nations, the IEA PVPS grew immensely under Nowak over the last 2 decades and cover with its reports and working groups many key topics in this field.

With Nowak gone, Mugnier will hold the post over the next 3 years. A solar PV and solar thermal technology expert from France, Mugnier is the chair of the Solar Heating and Cooling TCP (IEA SHC).

“I want to work as a team with the Executive Committee, the management board and all the experts of the 8 active tasks. One of my first objectives is to increase the visibility of PVPS worldwide in order to influence the ongoing solar revolution,” said Mugnier on his successful election.

According to the IEA PVPS Snapshot of Global PV Markets 2021, global solar PV installations at the end of 2020 reached 760.4 GW DC factoring in annual additions of 139.4 GW DC in 2020.
