  • For this, it used a large-area N-Type cell comprising its HOT cell design with tunnel oxide passivating contact technology
  • Testing for this achievement was conducted by the Photovoltaic and Wind Power Systems Quality Test Center at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)

JinkoSolar has achieved a 24.2% record high efficiency for its n-type TOPCon monocrystalline silicon solar cell. It used large-area n-Type cell that comprises the Chinese solar module manufacturer  HOT cell design with tunnel oxide passivating contact technology. This HOT cell design was also used by JinkoSolar to fabricate its n-type half-cell module based on 60 cells, which achieved a world PV module power record of 387.6 W, according to JinkoSolar.

The company says this 24.2% cell efficiency will be achieved across its entire product chain because of its N-type wafer selective emitter doping technology and advanced fine-line printing technology.

JinkoSolar's 24.2% efficiency record was tested by the Photovoltaic and Wind Power Systems Quality Test Center at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

The announcement comes only a few days after LONGi Solar claimed back a record for advanced p-type PERC solar cells from JinkoSolar (see LONGI 24.06%  Efficiency PERC Cell World Record).
