First batch of J-TOPCon2.0 cells Shanxi Zhonglai factory shipped; Shangji Automation to invest in new energy park in Xuzhou Economic Zone; TBEA subsidiary invests RMB 6.5 billion in silicon project; Mubang Hi-Tech signs another 10 GW TOPCon cell project.

First batch of J-TOPCon2.0 cells shipped: Bifacial solar cell and module manufacturer Jolywood said that the first batch of J-TOPCon2.0 cells from Shanxi Zhonglai's high-efficiency monocrystalline cell factory has been smoothly shipped. The company's high-efficiency monocrystalline cell products based on J-TOPCon technology have been recognized in several countries. Jolywood has been engaged in the R&D of high-efficiency N-type TOPCon double-sided cells for quite some time now, and its J-TOPCon PV technology with independent intellectual property rights has now entered the 2.0 era. The aim of the company is to gradually reduce the production process and the cost of TOPCon cells in comparison to PERC. At the TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on High Efficiency Solar Technologies held few months back, Jolywood had revealed that their PAPAID technology backing their J-TOPCon 2.0 that achieved 24.5% efficiency is based on PVD (see Dr Du Zheren, Jolywood: The Progress and Applications of Jolywood N-Type TOPCon Technology)

Shanghai Automation to invest in wafering capacity new energy park: Special equipment manufacturer for the photovoltaic industry Shanghai Automation said it is looking forward to investing in the construction of a new energy industrial park in Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. The park would include a 25 GW monocrystalline silicon wafer project and a 24 GW N-type high-efficiency cell project. With an investment of RMB 15 billion ($2.2 billion), the construction will be in 3 phases lasting for about 2 to 3 years. While in the first phase, 25 GW monocrystalline silicon wafer capacity will be built; in the second and third phases, 14 GW and 10 GW of high-efficiency crystalline silicon cell projects will be built.

TBEA invests in 200,000-ton industrial silicon project: Solar PV inverter and silicon manufacturer from China, TBEA announced that its subsidiary, Xinjiang TBEA Loulan New Material Technology, is investing in the construction of a 200,000-ton/year high-purity silicon and source-grid-load-storage integration project in Ruoqiang County. The investment of the project is about RMB 6.5 billion ($0.96 billion) and will be constructed in two years. In May 2022, TBEA had invested RMB 480 million in a 100 MW PV project (see China PV News Snippets).

Mubang Hi-Tech signs 10 GW TOPCon cell project: Educational toys producer and seller Mubang Hi-Tech stated in an announcement that it has signed an agreement with the People's Government of Echeng. This partnership will see them build a 10 GW TOPCon photovoltaic cell production base. Spread across 500 acres, the investment of this project is pegged at RMB 4.8 billion ($0.71 billion). This is the second TOPCon project that the company announced within 1 month. Earlier, this month, Mubang Hi-Tech had announced that it wants to establish a 10 GW solar cell production in Wuzhou  (see China PV News Snippets).
