Wonder Solar 2 GW perovskite PV module facility begins construction; Gaoce to provide slicers and other machines to JA Solar; 35 Interconnect to buy 1.2 GW HJT production line from Maxwell; Shijing Technology wins Canadian Solar's 5 GW module expansion bid.

Construction begins for Wonder Solar's 2 GW PV facility: Over a WeChat communication, solar cell producer Wonder Solar said that its perovskite PV module R&D and manufacturing facility has begun construction in Gedian Economic Development Zone, Ezhou. With an investment of RMB 1 billion ($0.15 billion), the facility is spread across 97 mu and will be constructed in three phases. Once completed and put into production, the annual production of solar cells is expected to be more than 2 GW and the annual output value will be about RMB 2 billion ($0.29 billion).

Gaoce wins JA Solar bid orders: Wire cutting machine producer Qingdao Gaoce Technology said over WeChat that it has won all the bid orders of integrated solar panel manufacturer JA Solar, including Ningjin and Vietnam base. With this, Gaoce will now be providing slicers, squarers, and grinding and polishing machines to JA Solar. Also in 2022, JA Solar had purchased several times from Gaoce its photovoltaic machine processing and slicing equipment.

35 Interconnect to buy 1.2 GW HJT production line from Maxwell: China based cloud computing for enterprise information services company, 35 Interconnect, announced that group subsidiary Liansheng PV has signed an equipment procurement deal with solar cell production equipment maker, Maxwell Technologies. As per the deal, Maxwell will be providing 2 HJT cell production lines with a capacity of 0.6 GW/line, totalling to 1.2 GW, both of which will be used in the Meishan 5 GW ultra-efficient heterojunction cell and 5G smart factory. In December 2022, 35 Interconnect signed an agreement with Government of Danling County in Meishan City and announced its plans to invest RMB 2.5 bn in a HJT facility (see China PV News Snippets)

Shijing Technology wins Canadian Solar's 5 GW module expansion bid: Integrated environmental management and control service provider Shijing Technology announced that it has received a bid winning notice from Canadian Solar (Thailand). The bid is to provide process and support system to Canadian Solar (Thailand) for its 5.3 GW module expansion initiative. The total bid price was RMB 134.5 million ($19.82 million) (tax included).
