Aiko Solar ABC module stands out for innovative performance at Red Dot Award; Tongwei registers positive growth in Q1/2023; Jieyuan New Energy to build cell and module facilities; Xinlei Semiconductor invests RMB 1.9 billion in perovskite module facility.
Aiko Solar ABC module bags Red Dot Award: Over a WeChat communication, Chinese solar cell producer Aiko Solar announced that its ABC module has won the prestigious German Red Dot Product Design Award 2023, becoming the world's first XBC photovoltaic module to do so. The module, apart from its innovative design and excellent product performance, is also known for functionality, durability, intuitiveness and ease of use, quality, and environmental protection, according to company. Aiko Solar will be taking part in the upcoming TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Distributed Solar to be held on 25 April from 9.30 to 13.30 CEST. Tongwei releases Q1 2023 operating data: Disclosing the main operating data from January to March 2023, Chinese integrated module manufacturer Tongwei Solar said that its operating income is about RMB 35-36 billion ($5.08-$5.23 billion), an increase of 42-46% year-on-year. The net profit is at RMB 8.3-8.7 billion ($1.2-$1.26 billion), a rise of about 60-68% year-on-year. Rapid growth of the photovoltaic industry led to increased sale of Tongwei's main products, thus leading to this growth in performance. Watch Tongwei, currently the world's largest silicon manufacturer, speak about its module product strategy at a recent TaiyangNews event (see Jason Xia, Tongwei: Module Innovations From Tongwei).
Jieyuan New Energy to build cell and module factories: Research and developer of emerging energy technologies Jieyuan New Energy Group said via WeChat that it has signed a deal with Chayou Middle Banner Committee for a high-efficiency crystalline silicon 10 GW photovoltaic cells and 10 GW photovoltaic module facility. The signing took place at a symposium held by Chayou Middle Banner Committee and Linyuan Group.
Xinlei Semiconductor invests in 100 MW perovskite module facility: Producer and seller of optoelectronic devices Xinlei Semiconductor announced via WeChat that it will soon be building a 100 MW perovskite module facility in Qiqihar. With an investment of RMB 1.9 billion ($0.28 billion) and spread across 60,000 square meters in Beiyuan Industrial Park, the facility will be built in 3 phases: construction of diamond production equipment manufacturing; diamond production and processing; and 100 MW perovskite photovoltaic module production and processing. On completion, the annual output value is expected to be over RMB 2.6 billion ($0.38 billion).
