LONGi ships 10 GW cumulative capacity of Hi-MO 4 modules: The cumulative shipment of LONGi’s Hi-MO 4 solar modules has exceeded the milestone of 10 GW. It has been able to achieve this landmark within a year’s time since it was in September 2019 that LONGi started large scale mass production of these modules (see ‘Big’ Benefit For Modules). The company draws a comparison with the aggregate solar PV capacity of France that stands at around 10 GW currently. The Hi-MO4 module series is available in bifacial and monofacial variants.

Earlier this month, the company announced achieving mass production of its Hi-MO 5 module series at its module fab in Xinyang city in Shaanxi province of China with 5 GW annual capacity. Another fab with 5 GW annual capacity for this series is currently under construction in Jiaxing city of Zhejiang province. These Hi-MO 5 series promise power output of over 540W based on M10 or 182mm standard gallium doped monocrystalline wafers. “To ramp-up Hi-MO 5 mass production, LONGi is now accelerating the construction of new production capacity. It is expected that the production capacity of LONGi Hi-MO 5 will reach 12GW this year,” stated the management.

Cybrid to set up subsidiary for encapsulation project: The board of directors at Cybrid Technologies have approved the proposal to set up a wholly owned subsidiary of the company to implement the recently announced encapsulation film project with an annual capacity of 255 million sq. mtr. which is equivalent to 25 GW (see China PV News Snippets: Shangji, Cybrid, DZS Solar). The project will come up in Pujiang Economic Development Zone in Zhejiang province and the subsidiary will have a registered capital of RMB 168 million ($25 million), stated report by Polaris Solar Photovoltaic Network. The expansion plan, as the report referred to the company statement, is in line with Cybrid’s development strategy and long-term plan with a view to improving its profitability.

Antaisolar to supply mounting equipment to South Korea: Solar PV mounting solutions and trackers supplier Antaisolar has secured a strategic cooperation agreement for 500 MW order with South Korean PV distributor GS Global of South Korea. Over the next 3 years, the Chinese company will supply 500 MW of fixed racking and tracking system solutions to be used for rooftop, ground, floating solar and other applications. “With this cooperation, Antaisolar will take its own advantages in product R&D and innovation, production and delivery capabilities, and with efficient team services then coupled with GS Global’s influence in the Korean market and advantages in resource integration, both parties will jointly expand Korea’s clean energy and photovoltaic markets,” said Antaisolar.

Over 0.6% efficiency gain for SC New Energy HJT equipment: Solar PV production equipment manufacturer SC New Energy Technology Corporation has announced a conservative efficiency gain of over 0.6% for efficient heterojunction (HJT) on the basis of conventional HJT. The company recently developed the latest generation of HJT key mass production equipment called reactive plasma deposition (RPD) 5500A to complete in-plant assembly and completion which will be sent to the customers for onsite production of high efficiency and ultra-efficient HJT cells. This, it says, marks the birth of a large-capacity new RPD with independent intellectual property rights, which will bring new efficiency gains and cost advantages to high-efficiency and even super-efficient HJT technology. The company is also about to launch a 2-in-1 device PAR5500, which uses a new RPD on the front and PVD on the back. It is integrated into one device and a set of automation, reducing the footprint by half and greatly reducing the cost of equipment.
