Sungrow partners with CMEC to build UAE super power station: Solar PV inverter supplier Sungrow has signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with China Machinery Engineering Corporation and the UAE for the Al Dhafra PV2 project. Located in the desert, the project has an installed capacity of 2.1 GW and adopts Sungrow's string solution SG250HX and supporting medium voltage system. Once the project is connected to the grid, it will meet the electricity consumption of 160,000 households and promote energy transition and sustainable development of the Middle East region. Zhongtai to build Inner Mongolia PV hydrogen project: Cryogenic technology equipment and solution supplier Zhongtai said in an announcement that it signed a joint cooperation agreement with CSSC Wind Power and Runfeng Energy. As per the agreement, the companies will invest and cooperate in PV core equipment manufacturing, PV power plant development and construction, hydrogen production and hydrogen liquefaction, wind farm and industrialization of wind power projects in Chifeng City, located southeast of Inner Mongolia.
China Datang PV power generation rise by 254.27% in May 2021: China Datang Corporation Renewable Power announced that the power generation of the company and its subsidiaries as of May 2021 on a consolidated basis stood at 2,556,706 MWh, representing an increase of 28.23% compared to the corresponding period of 2020. Out of this, the PV power generation amounted to 113,666 MWh, representing an increase of 254% compared to the same period last year. The total power generation of the Group as on 31 May 2021 amounted to 12,584,777 MWh, which is an increase of 34% compared to the corresponding period last year. Out of this, photovoltaic power generation amounted to 375,928 MWh, marking an increase of 189% compared to same period of 2020.
Suzhou Run to invest in RMB 13 bn Shizuishan polysilicon and cell fab: Suzhou Run Sunshine has signed an investment agreement with the government of Shizuishan, Ningxia to invest RMB 13 billion ($2.03 billion). The company will be building a high purity polysilicon project, with an annual output of 100,000 tons and a solar cell project with an annual output of 5 GW, which is expected to achieve an annual output value of RMB 21 billion ($3.28 billion), once completed.
LONGi & China Gas partner for PV projects: China Gas Holdings Limited announced that the company and Chinese vertically integrated PV company LONGi have entered into a strategic cooperation agreement. With this development, both companies want to leverage their respective competitive edges to strengthen an all-round cooperation in various areas, including distributed PV, building integrated PV, energy storage and electric vehicle charging projects, green hydrogen and other clean energy applications, along with research and utilisation of new energy.
