TaiyangNews Reliable PV Module Design Conference On Oct 26, 2023; AIKO Solar's Jimmy Melskens at TaiyangNews Reliable PV Module Design Conference; Trina Solar Huai'an Phase II operational; DMEGC and Shuangliang Eco-Energy release 9M 2023 results; Tongwei Solar at All-Energy Australia; MIKOPTIK ships HJT copper wire cell graphic line equipment; CTGR completes Kubuqi desert PV project installation.

AIKO Solar's Jimmy Melskens to speak at TaiyangNews Reliable PV Module Design Conference: At the TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Reliable PV Module Design, scheduled to take place on October 26, 2023 from 09:30 – 13:30 CEST, Jimmy Melskens, Senior Product Manager from AIKO Solar, will be speaking on the topic: Combining High Reliability With Superior Aesthetics.

Solar modules are a very rare commodity that comes with typical performance warranties of 25-30 years, making reliability an important part of new product design. And with solar module technology being in an innovation rush, quickly improving efficiencies and reaching higher power output as global deployment continues at record pace, there's one key attribute beyond these two direct sales metrics of a PV panel – and that is reliability.

This Conference will bring together key stakeholders active in the various parts of module manufacturing to discuss the topic "reliability" with a view to facilitate designing and building high-performance modules that will last for decades.

Trina Solar Huai'an Phase II fully operational: Solar module manufacturer Trina Solar has announced that it has rolled off the 1st Vertex n-type 2382 mm standard size module from the 10 GW Huai'an base Phase II facility. With the second phase coming online, the Huai'an base is now fully operational. The company says that the Huai'an base Phase II 10 GW n-type TOPCon cell + 10 GW n-type module facility, spread across 780 acres with the construction area taking up 290,000 sq. m., was constructed in less than 6 months from groundbreaking. The 10 GW cell production line is built on the new generation n-type i-TOPCon advanced technology, and the company claims to reached 25.8% average cell efficiency mass produced at the facility. Its 10 GW module production line produces the 2382 mm × 1134 mm Vertex N-type 610 W series modules. Trina Solar had reported the production of the 1st module from the facility in April 2023 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

DMEGC 9M 2023 revenues up over 11%: Vertically integrated solar module manufacturer DMEGC has announced that its revenues for the 1st 3 quarters of 2023 increased 11.56% year-on-year (YoY) to approximately RMB 15.757 billion ($2.15 billion). The company's net profit for the period increased 36.6% YoY to approximately RMB 1.65 billion ($225.5 million). According to the company, solar PV made up 66.34% of its total operating income for the period of January to June 2023. In September, DMEGC Solar had announced that its Hengdian and Sihong module production facilities had received TÜV SÜD certification for being powered entirely by 100% renewable energy sources (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Tongwei Solar to unveil new modules at All-Energy Australia: Tongwei Solar has announced that it will unveil its innovative modules at All-Energy Australia, scheduled to take place on October 25 and 26 in Melbourne. The company said that it will present its latest R&D achievements such as p-type and n-type modules, including half-cut modules covering all market demands and fully flexible, low-lead and fluorine-free, environmentally friendly shingled modules.

MIKOPTIK ships GW-level HJT copper grid wire cell graphic line equipment: Laser equipment manufacturer MIKOPTIK has announced that it has shipped its independently developed "HJT copper grid wire cell pattern exposure machine" and the supporting equipment to a well-known domestic HJT cell manufacturer. The company said that the equipment's production capacity reaches 7200 pieces/hour which is compatible with 210 mm and 182 mm cell production with a line width resolution 15 μm/15 μm and resolution accuracy of ±10%.

Shuangliang Eco-Energy 9M 2023 net profit up 68.98% YoY: Solar PV production equipment manufacturer Shuangliang Eco-Energy has reported that its operating income for the 1st 3 quarters of 2023 increased 114.83% YoY to RMB 18.788 billion ($2.57 billion). During the period, the company's net profit increased 68.98% YoY to RMB 1.403 billion ($191.7 million). The company attributed this performance mainly to higher sales driven by customer demand. Earlier this month, Shuangliang Eco-Energy announced that it has signed an "Entrusted Processing Contract" with Shuangjing New Energy to supply monocrystalline silicon bricks (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

CTGR completes installation on 2,000 MW Kubuqi desert PV project: China Three Gorges Renewables has announced that it has completed module installation on the Kubuqi photovoltaic desert control project at the western Inner Mongolia base. The project is touted as one of the 1st large-scale wind power and PV projects to be started in China during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. The power plant is expected to generate about 4.1 billion kWh when fully up and running, saving approximately 1.25 million tons of standard coal and reducing 3.94 million tons of CO2 emissions. Supported by a sand control project, the power plant is expected to restore and control a desert area of 100,000 acres, reducing the amount of sand transported to the Yellow River by an average of 2 million tons per year.
