JA Solar wins 500 MW module bid; Hainan outdoor test conducted by DAS Solar & TÜV NORD grid-connected; Leascend to set up HJT cell fab; SC New Energy ships HJT line; GCL's Wuhu Phase I TOPCon cell facility hits full production.

Trina Solar's Zhou Yangyang to speak at TaiyangNews Reliable PV Module Design Conference: Zhou Yangyang, Product Manager at Trina Solar, will be speaking at TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Reliable PV Module Design, scheduled to take place on October 26, 2023, from 09:30 – 13:30 CEST. The topic she will be addressing is: Total Quality Control to Ensure High Reliability Thorough the Life-Cycle of Trina's Vertex n-Modules.

The Conference will bring together key stakeholders active in the various parts of module manufacturing to discuss the topic "reliability" to facilitate designing and building high-performance modules that last for decades.

Trina Solar at All Energy Australia 2023: Trina Solar has announced that it will be exhibiting its Vertex N 700W module at the All Energy Australia trade show in Melbourne, to be held on October 25 and 26. As the name suggests, the bifacial i-TOPCon module has a maximum power output of 700 W and a maximum efficiency of 22.5%. The company says that it is working with its research partners in Australia to develop cells based on perovskite. Trina will also be showcasing the Vertex S+ 450W, a mono-facial module designed for residential rooftops, a 610 W Vertex N bifacial module with up to 22.6% efficiency, a 500 W Vertex N module with efficiency of up to 22.5%. Apart from its modules, the company will also be promoting Trina Storage, its energy storage arm, and its Elementa G2 4MWh solution. In addition, TrinaTracker has invited Australian and New Zealand installers to an event the day before All Energy to highlight the Vanguard 1P tracker and other installation features. Recently, Tongwei Solar has also announced that it will unveil its innovative modules at All-Energy Australia (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

JA Solar wins Shenzhen Energy Group's 500 MW module tender: Shenzhen Energy Group has announced JA Solar as the winning bidder for the PV component procurement for the Phase II of the 500 MW Sheneng Shule 2,000 MW photovoltaic and storage integration project was announced. JA Solar's bidding price was for RMB 1.086/W ($0.148). Other notable participants were: Yiyi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., with the second lowest bidding price of RMB 1.114 /W ($0.152); and Longi Solar with the third lowest bidding price of RMB 1.132 /W ($0.154). Hainan outdoor test jointly conducted by DAS Solar and TÜV NORD grid-connected: A joint outdoor test conducted by DAS Solar and TÜV NORD at a PV plant located in Haikou City, Hainan Province has been officially connected to the grid. The PV plant is now connected to the grid in the Hainan base of China Testing & Certification International Group (CTC). The 2 entities had signed an outdoor test agreement to verify the electrical performance and reliability of n-type modules under 1500V DC voltage at SNEC 2023 in Shanghai. DAS Solar's PV laboratory of has been accredited by TÜV SÜD, TÜV Nord, and CNAS.

Leascend to set up 12 GW HJT cell facility: Leascend Technology has announced that it has signed an agreement to invest in a 12 GW heterojunction (HJT) cell facility with the Nantong High-tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee. The facility is planned to be constructed in 3 phases. The company plans to invest about RMB 2 billion ($273.7 million) in the first phase, which will involve the construction of 3 GW of HJT cell production capacity, scheduled to be completed in September 2024. The second phase will expand the capacity by another 3 GW. The company will decide on the construction of the 6 GW third phase depending on the prevailing situation at the time. In August, Leascend announced that it officially commenced operations at its 8 GW high-efficiency HJT facility in the Sichuan Province (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

S.C New Energy ships 600 MW HJT line: Solar PV equipment manufacturer S.C New Energy Technology has announced that it has shipped 600 MW HJT solar cell line to an unnamed PV manufacturer. Being a turnkey solution, the entire line from the main equipment to automation are all provided by S.C New Energy Technology. The equipment shipped adopts the company's new plate-type PECVD double-sided high-speed RF microcrystalline process, with a production capacity of 600 MW. The company says that the cells produced can reach an average cell efficiency of more than 25.1% (12BB) with a line yield of 98%.

GCL Integration Wuhu Phase I TOPCon cell facility reaches full production: Solar PV cell and module manufacturer GCL Integration has announced that its Wuhu Base 20 GW high-efficiency n-type TOPCon cell manufacturing facility of GCL Integration is now fully up and running. The company says that the average efficiency of the mass-produced cells at the Wuhu base exceeds 25.6%.

Inner Mongolia gets 20 GW silicon ingot and 3 GW PV module fabs: The Xilinhot Municipal Government has announced the signing of cooperation agreements for 2 10 GW ingot and 3 GW PV module facilities with Changzhou Xiangfeng Industrial Development Group Co., Ltd. The total value for investments in the 3 facilities is said to total RMB 5 billion ($684.2 million).
