Tongwei Solar gets approval for 41 GW n-type cell fabs and Phase II of R&D center: Tongwei Solar has announced that the energy conservation reports for multiple photovoltaic manufacturing facilities have been approved by the Development and Reform Commission of Sichuan Province. These are:

  • 25 GW n-type monocrystalline silicon cell fab: It's planned to be built in Shuangliu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan. The company plans to construct 50 production lines for monocrystalline silicon cells, with the construction scheduled to from January 2024 to August 2025.
  • 16 GW n-type monocrystalline silicon cell fab: It's planned to be built in Dongpo District, Meishan City, Sichuan, consisting of 32 production lines for monocrystalline silicon cells, with construction scheduled from January 2024 to October 2025.
  • Tongwei Solar PV Industry Technology Research and Development Center (Phase II): The company plans to construct a 1 GW heterojunction-copper interconnect solar cell R&D line and 3 efficient perovskite-heterojunction tandem solar cell R&D lines with a total capacity of 100 MW. The construction is scheduled from January 2024 to September 2024.

Tongwei Solar recently unveiled its new G12R TNC series modules in Frankfurt, Germany (see China Solar PV New Snippets).

Drinda to issue H shares; to list on Hong Kong Stock Exchange: Automotive instrument panel assembly manufacturer Drinda has announced that it plans to issue shares (H shares) overseas and apply for listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company said that the funds raised will be used for overseas production capacity construction of high-efficiency cells, overseas market expansion and overseas sales operation system construction, global R&D center construction and supplementary working capital. Drinda is expected to become the 1st PV cell company to have both A and H shares listed at the same time.

Seraphim's Jinzhai Phase II TOPCon module fab online: Solar cell and module manufacturer Seraphim has announced that its Jinzhai Phase II high-efficiency TOPCon module fab is now online. The company says that this is an important step for Seraphim to deepen its layout, implement new development concepts and plan for future development.

In September 2023, Seraphim announced its plans to build a 10 GW PV module manufacturing facility in Guangzhou (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

SunketSolar's n-type TOPCon modules get TÜV SÜD CB certification: Solar PV manufacturer SunketSolar has announced that it has secured TÜV SÜD CB certification for its n-type TOPCon single and double glass PV modules. The TÜV SÜD tests were conducted in accordance with IEC 61215:2021 technical standards and specifications. The company's modules successfully passed multiple tests such as DH1000, TC200, and UV sequence.

Canadian Solar PV Test Laboratory accredited by CNAS: Canadian Solar has announced that the Canadian Solar Photovoltaic Test Laboratory (CPTL) has received accreditation from China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). The company said that the CNAS experts affirmed the quality management system operation and testing capabilities of CPTL after a 2-day comprehensive review. All 28 testing items applied for assessment passed the on-site review.
