TÜV Rheinland awards Trina’s vertex series; DAH to build silicon wafer and cell facility; Akcome 3.5 GW facility begins construction; Sun Harmonics sets new efficiency record; Jinenu Solar customizes and produces first n-type TOPCon module.

Trina’s Vertex series now TÜV Rheinland certified: At the SNEC exhibition which was held in the last week of May in Shanghai, TÜV Rheinland certified Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar’s Vertex series modules. These Vertex series modules are highly adaptable to the marine environment and are completely reliable when faced with harsh environmental challenges like high temperature, high humidity, high salt fog, strong wind, strong waves, and heavy precipitation. Meanwhile Trina Solar is part of TaiyangNews’ upcoming Global PV System Technology Trends H1/2023 Virtual Conference, which will take place on 27-28 June 2023. DAH Solar signs silicon wafer cell facility deal: PV module developer and manufacturer DAH Solar said via WeChat that the company, Chinese government owned hydropower giant China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), and Jinzhong Development Committee have signed an agreement for the DAH Solar high efficiency n-type silicon wafer cell production facility. With an investment of about RMB 2 billion ($0.28 billion), the three parties plan to build a 7 GW high-efficiency n-type silicon wafers and 7 GW high-efficiency n-type cell production facility. Last month, DAH Solar’s Anchao facility had produced its first module (see China Solar PV News Snippets)

Construction begins for Akcome 3.5 GW module facility: Over WeChat, Chinese solar cell and module producer said that its 3.5 GW photovoltaic module facility in Suzhou has begun construction. Spread across 43 mu and with an investment of RMB 500 million ($70.2 million), the facility will take about 10 months to be built. The core products to be made here are 210 HJT modules, 182 TOPCon modules, and conventional PERC 210 and 182 modules. On completion, Akcome Technology’s module production capacity will touch 5 GW.

Sun Harmonics sets new efficiency record: Flexible thin-film solar cells producer Sun Harmonics announced via WeChat that the efficiency of its large-size flexible copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) module has exceeded 17.75%. This is very significant as it has surpassed the previous world record of 17.44% held by MiaSole of the United States.

Jinenu Solar produces first n-type TOPCon module: Customized producer of photovoltaic modules Jinenu Solar announced via WeChat that it has produced 16BB-182 size 108 version n-type TOPCon all-black high-efficiency monocrystalline module. This was done after production line customization, preliminary equipment debugging, and then going for trial production. The company has an order for about 200,000 pieces. This is Jinenu Solar’s first n-type TOPCon high-efficiency module order, and it has opened a new journey for the company for custom-producing n-type modules.
