JinkoSolar on 2024 Fortune China ESG Impact List: JinkoSolar has announced that it has earned a spot on the 2024 Fortune China ESG Impact List. The company says that this is a recognition of its achievements in areas like science-based carbon target verification and production of n-type Neo Green series modules. The list, now open to foreign enterprises, highlights the global significance of ESG efforts. JinkoSolar's inclusion underscores both its international recognition and the clean energy sector's role in sustainability. Additionally, the company has achieved milestones such as passing the Science Based Targets initiative reviews and receiving accolades from organizations like CDP and EcoVadis. The company says its rapid advancement in ESG ratings demonstrates its commitment and progress in promoting sustainability.

Separately, JinkoSolar also announced that it has won the "Top Brand PV" title in 6 regions in major Latin American countries, including Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Chile, awarded by EUPD Research. JinkoSolar recently signed a PV module supply agreement with JIDI Solar (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

GCL and DAS Solar purchase n-type cells from Cloud Live Tech Group: Solar cell manufacturer Cloud Live Tech Group has announced the signing of solar cell sales contracts with GCL Integration and DAS Solar. According to the announcements, the company will supply GCL with 1,600 MW of n-type monocrystalline cells with a conversion efficiency of 24.6% or higher in batches in 2024. Cloud Live will also supply about 1,408 MW of n-type monocrystalline cells with a nominal efficiency of 24.7% or higher to DAS Solar in 2024.

DAS Solar recently announced its plans for a 5 GW photovoltaic (PV) cell production fab in Weining County, Guizhou Province (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Mellow Energy completes Pre-A round financing for 100 MW perovskite cell fab: Perovskite solar cell company Mellow Energy recently completed its Pre-A round financing. This round of financing was led by Huajin Capital, with follow-up investments from CMBI and Yehua Investment. The company completed an angel round of financing in November 2022. In February 2023, it achieved the process integration of its perovskite PV module pilot production line and officially produced its first 30 x 30 cm large-area perovskite solar module. In April 2024, Mellow Energy started construction on a 100 MW perovskite module production line, which is expected to be completed by the end of June this year. The completion of this Pre-A round financing will provide funds for this production line.

In late December 2023, Mellow Energy announced that its 30 cm × 30 cm large-size perovskite photovoltaic module has achieved a conversion efficiency of 22.86% (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Zhengye Technology's 1 GW HJT cell & module fab delayed: HJT cell and module manufacturer Zhengye Technology has announced the postponement of its heterojunction (HJT) cell and module manufacturing facility to June 2024. According to the company's announcement in October 2022, the company plans to invest RMB 5 billion ($690.8 million) to build a 5 GW solar module and 8 GW HJT cell production base in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, in 3 phases. The first phase of the project consists of a 1 GW HJT cell and 2 GW module fab, of which 1 GW was put into operation in July 2023. The remaining 1 GW production line was originally scheduled to start construction in September 2023, but has been postponed due to a delay in completion of the plant's construction.

LEAD ships mass production 0BB string welding equipment: Equipment manufacturer LEAD has announced that it has shipped its innovative mass-produced 0BB string welding equipment to top customer sites in China. The company calls it a new masterpiece of its intelligent innovative layout of photovoltaic (PV) 0BB string welding process. The company says the equipment helps its customers achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvement by integrating multiple features.
