First HJT panel from Winhitech; HDHM signs sales agreement with Bowu Modern Industrial Park; DMEGC forecasts rise in profit in H1/2023; Cando Solar raises funds for busbar-free HJT; Huadian 1 GW PV project connected to grid.
WINHITECH produces first HJT solar module: High-efficiency heterojunction (HJT) cell and module maker and seller WINHITECH said that it has produced its first HJT module, signifying a big step forward in terms of technology. The company's products span across residential, commercial and ground photovoltaic generation systems. The aim now is to construct a 12 GW high-efficiency heterojunction solar cell and module facility in four phases. The first phase will be producing 3 GW cells and 4 GW modules, the company added.
HDHM and Bowu Modern partner for solar cells: Port handling equipment company HDHM announced that it has signed an agreement with Bowu Modern Industrial Park for a 10 GW n -type high -efficiency solar cell facility. Spread across 334 acres, the investment is on the facility will be about RMB 6 billion ($0.83 billion), and the construction would begin in July this year. On completion, the annual output of the facility is expected to exceed RMB 10 billion ($1.39 billion).
DMEGC expects 48% to 58% rise in net profit: Disclosing its semi-annual performance forecast, vertically integrated solar module manufacturer from China, Hengdian Group DMEGC Magnetics Co., Ltd. (DMEGC) said that it expects the net profit in that period to be around RMB 1.18 billion ($0.16 billion) to RMB 1.26 billion ($0.17 billion), a year-on-year increase of 48% to 58%. This rise in profit is due to the increase in company's PV module shipments, and the fall in the price of upstream materials, the company added. Last year, DMEGC had invested in three phases of a 20 GW n-type cell facility (see China Solar PV News Snippets). Since June, DMEG is included in the TaiyangNews High Efficiency Commercial Solar Panels Ranking (see Top Solar Modules Listing – June 2023).
Cando Solar focuses on busbar-free HJT: Advanced photovoltaic company Cando Solar said via WeChat that it has completed A-round of financing and has raised RMB 100 million ($13.8 million). This money would mainly be directed towards the construction of mass production lines for ultra-large and ultra-thin busbar-free heterojunction cells and modules. The company wants to to focus also on research and development of laminated cells and team expansion.
Huadian 1 GW PV project for salt drying connected to grid: Over WeChat, Huadian Corporation said that its Huadian Tianjin Haijing's 1 GW salt-photovoltaic facility has been officially connected to the grid for power generation. Salt and photovoltaic facilities usually involve a combination of 'solar salt' and photovoltaic power generation, where the photovoltaic modules are erected at a certain height on the salt field to realize the effective generation of water power. This is a three-dimensional and efficient production method of drying salt on the water surface and underwater farming. Located in Changlu Salt Field Tianjin, the plant is spread across 20,000 mu and can provide 1.5 billion kWh of clean electricity every year, thus meeting the electricity demands of 1.5 million households and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.25 million tons
