Huasun and Keruida sign strategic cooperation agreement; Gansu Beihang New Energy breaks ground on integrated flexible PV and ESS facility; DR Laser's LIF equipment order capacity now over 100 GW; Inno Laser's LSP technology achieves major breakthrough.

Huasun signs strategic cooperation agreement with Keruida: Heterojunction (HJT) module manufacturer Huasun has announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with testing equipment manufacturer Keruida. According to the agreement, the 2 companies will cooperate in the areas of offline testing, test equipment procurement, and technology development related to HJT solar wafers, cells, and modules. With this agreement, Huasun aims to improve the quality inspection efficiency and quality of its manufacturing processes.

Gansu Beihang New Energy starts construction on 5 GW flexible PV module and ESS facility: Gansu Beihang New Energy Technology has announced that it has broken ground for its 5 GW flexible PV module and energy storage system (ESS) integrated facility. The company will invest a total of RMB 1.5 billion into the facility, which will be spread over an area of 158 acres. Once complete and operational in December 2024, the facility is expected to produce 5 GW of various flexible PV modules, 100,000 PV intelligent cleaning robots and 50,000 tons of zinc, aluminum and magnesium PV brackets annually. The facility is expected to generate RMB 10 billion ($1.37 billion) in revenues annually.

DR Laser's order capacity for LIF equipment over 100 GW: Laser tool supplier DR Laser has announced that it has received mass production orders and bid confirmations for laser-induced sintering (LIF) equipment from multiple leading customers. The company states that its cumulative production capacity is now in excess of 100 GW. Based on its LIR and LIA technology, the company says that its LIF technology is recognized in the industry for its excellent performance in improving TOPCon efficiency. DR Laser expects to accelerate this technology into mass production post intensive testing and verification by TOPCon cell production lines of multiple customers. In January, DR Laser had announced that it had won a bid for 20 GW TOPCon PV cell SE primary laser doping equipment (see China PV News Snippets).

Inno Laser launches cell grid laser shock strengthening technology for TOPCon: Manufacturer of lasers for micro-processing Inno Laser has announced that its laser shock peening (LSP) technology has made a major breakthrough at its client's TOPCon cell process verification. The company claims the technology has helped improve the efficiency of TOPCon cells by more than 0.2%. LSP technology uses high-intensity laser pulses to impact the front of the solar cell to repair some defects and improve some mechanical properties of the metal electrode. This significantly reduces the contact resistivity between the semiconductor and metal electrodes. Inno Laser claims that LSP can improve Ag-Si contact on the front of TOPCon cells and increase the open circuit voltage and fill factor. It further claims that the technology also improves the density and mechanical strength of the front grid lines of the cell, improving overall performance. In February 2023, Inno Laser had announced that it had received the first batch of orders for its TOPCon laser SE direct doping equipment (see China PV News Snippets).
