
Solar cell and module maker DAS Solar has officially joined the Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI), a solar-specific sustainability assurance program launched by SolarPower Europe and Solar Energy UK. The company emphasized its commitment to its DASGREEN philosophy, focusing on corporate governance, technological innovation, sustainable development, and social responsibility. As of now, DAS Solar has obtained "Zero Carbon Factory" certification for 2 of its plants, while 4 production bases have received ISO 14064 greenhouse gas verification statements.
Recently, the Crystalline Silicon Back-Contact (BC) Photovoltaic Cell standard, led by DAS Solar, was released by Zhejiang Province as part of the second batch of 2024 Zhejiang Manufacturing Standards (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

TCL TZE, TCL Group’s solar wafer and cell manufacturing arm, recently announced that its cumulative shipments of 210 mm large-size silicon wafers surpassed 200 GW in Q1 2025 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Hangzhou Kelin Electric (KLEC) has announced that its subsidiary Keneng New Energy, which specializes in perovskite research and manufacturing, has developed perovskite solar modules with an efficiency exceeding 21%. The company says these modules have passed TÜV NORD testing and certification. According to the test report, under forward and reverse scans, they achieved a maximum output power of 118.83 W and 123.3 W, corresponding to photoelectric conversion efficiencies of 20.347% and 21.113%, respectively.

Midea Solar, home appliance giant Midea Group’s solar business unit, has announced that its smart hybrid solar-storage system has won the Red Dot Product Design Award in the latest edition of the Red Dot Awards, following its previous recognition with the iF Design Award. The system is part of Midea’s villa green energy solution and comprises 3 core components: a hybrid inverter, a BMS box, and a battery. It is designed to withstand high temperatures, water splashes, sandstorms, and snow, while enabling seamless switching between grid and off-grid modes. Additionally, the system integrates AFCI arc fault protection to ensure high safety and stability. Users can monitor real-time household energy distribution via a mobile app, enabling flexible energy management.
Polysilicon manufacturer Xinte Energy released its 2024 financial report, recording total revenues of RMB 21.213 billion ($2.93 billion), a 31.02% year-on-year decline. The company reported a net loss of RMB 3.905 billion ($538.62 million), compared to a net profit of RMB 4.345 billion ($599.31 million) in the previous year, marking a shift from profit to loss.
By segment, Xinte Energy’s polysilicon revenue for 2024 was RMB 7.76 billion ($1.07 billion), representing a decline of over 60% from 2023. However, the company’s renewable energy power station development and operation business, including wind and solar projects, experienced significant growth, generating RMB 17.13 billion ($2.36 billion) in revenue, up 62% year-on-year.
