TÜV Rheinland Bankability Certification for DMEGC’s Infinity RT Modules

Vertically integrated solar manufacturer DMEGC Solar's Infinity RT modules have received the prestigious Bankability certification from TÜV Rheinland, emphasizing their technological innovation and high-quality standards. This recognition bolsters DMEGC’s credibility, supporting customer confidence and global market competitiveness.

The certification, adhering to TÜV Rheinland’s Bankability 2 PfG 2940 standards and IEC 63209-1:2021, included rigorous testing for performance, environmental adaptability, safety, and durability. Key tests, including UVID and LeTID, showed module loss rates significantly below the 5% IEC standard, with degradation staying under 2%. DMEGC says this certification underscores its reliability and safety, offering a strong endorsement for distributors, end-users, and financiers, particularly in Europe.

Last month, DMEGC Solar’s Lianyungang manufacturing base received TÜV SÜD ISO 14068-1:2023 carbon neutrality verification (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

TrinaTracker’s SuperTrack delivers up to 3.24% power generation gain

The SuperTrack tracking system from TrinaTracker, the tracker-making arm of Trinasolar, has been validated by SGS, an international third-party testing organization, for its power generation gain. SGS conducted a year-long verification of TrinaTracker’s intelligent tracking retrofit project in Weifang City, Shandong Province. The results showed that the use of the SuperTrack intelligent control system led to a 3.24% increase in power generation. Based on the station’s electricity price of RMB 0.98/kWh ($0.134/kWh) with subsidies, the retrofit is expected to generate an additional revenue of RMB 44,500 ($6,101) per MW annually. TrinaTracker further explained that the application of AI algorithms in tracker systems can adjust the optimal tilt angle for each row of trackers in real-time, resulting in up to an additional 8% power generation, further enhancing station efficiency.

In October, TrinaTracker was awarded the Green Supply Chain Leadership Award by Bureau Veritas (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

JTPV achieves 31.0% efficiency on TOPCon/perovskite tandem cells

Solar cell and module manufacturer Jietai Solar (JTPV) has announced that its TOPCon/perovskite tandem solar cells, developed in-house, have achieved a certified conversion efficiency of 31.0%, surpassing the 29.03% efficiency achieved earlier in June by almost 2 percentage points. The company stated that it will continue to focus on the innovation and research of cutting-edge technologies. Currently, JTPV is collaborating extensively with top institutions such as Zhejiang University, the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering under Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Suzhou University to promote integration of industry, academia, and research to advance the development of TOPCon/perovskite tandem cell technology.

In November, the JTPV-led High-Efficiency Perovskite-Silicon Tandem Solar Cell R&D and Industrialization project was selected for the Anhui Province Technology Innovation Program (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

UNGC selects Tongwei’s fisheries-solar project for case study

Tongwei Solar has announced that its ‘Fisheries-Solar Integration for Green Development’ case has been included in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) report titled 20 CASE EXAMPLES FOR 20 YEARS – Private Sector’s Sustainable Development in China, as one of the top 20 best practices for sustainable development in China. It also claims to be the only PV materials manufacturer featured in the report. Tongwei introduced this innovative model combining solar power generation with modern aquaculture, enabling ‘solar power generation on top, fish farming below.’ This model not only maintains local ecological balance and produces clean electricity but also supports the development of tourism, entertainment, and educational sectors, significantly improving land resource utilization and promoting rural economic transformation and growth. Thus far, Tongwei says it has developed and built 55 "Fisheries-Solar Integration" solar plants across more than 20 provinces and municipalities, with a total installed capacity exceeding 4.477 GW.

NEA selects SPIC’s module recycling equipment for major technology list

The solar module recycling equipment developed by Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. and its parent company, State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC), has been included in the 4th batch of major energy sector technology equipment in China, as announced by the National Energy Administration (NEA). Since 2017, Huanghe Hydropower has been researching solar module recycling technologies. In December 2021, it completed the construction and operation of the first domestic pilot line for full material recycling of crystalline silicon solar modules, capable of efficiently recycling materials such as glass, aluminum frames, junction boxes, silicon, solder ribbons, and silver. The recycling line can process 110,000 retired solar panels annually. The company has now developed a set of core recycling technologies with independent intellectual property rights.
