In a first for the company, leading solar Integrated manufacturer Tongwei Solar announced that its TOPCon modules produced at its Meishan manufacturing base have obtained a Carbon Footprint Certificate from ADEME (Agence de la transition écologique). The company stated that this certification supports market expansion by meeting low-carbon product requirements in Europe.
Tongwei noted that its Meishan facility, recognized as the world’s first lighthouse factory in the solar cell industry, has established a strong foundation in digital manufacturing, refined energy management, and process control, providing robust support for high-standard carbon footprint accounting.
Last month, Tongwei’s Jintang manufacturing base passed CBC’s audit for the differentiated application weatherability certification for PV modules issued (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Skyworth PV, the solar manufacturing and developing arm of Skyworth, has launched 7 integrated solar-storage-charging demonstration stations in Shenzhen. These projects use the company’s in-house-developed integrated solutions, which combine PV generation, energy storage systems, and EV charging infrastructure.
The demonstration stations are equipped with Skyworth PV’s solar modules, energy storage products, and charging equipment, enabling self-consumption of solar power, surplus electricity storage, and intelligent charging. The company stated that these projects represent its strategic shift from module manufacturing toward system integration, aiming to develop integrated application scenarios combining renewable energy and EV charging.
Skyworth PV recently launched a BIPV system for application in villas (see Skyworth Launches BIPV System For Villas).
Sichuan Province has announced the results of its 2025-2026 bidding round for mechanism power volumes for new renewable energy projects. The original plan allocated around 0.88 billion kWh for wind power projects and 4.14 billion kWh for solar PV projects, with bidding prices ranging from RMB 0.20 to RMB 0.4012 per kWh.
The final results show that 13,177 PV projects were selected, securing a total mechanism power volume of approximately 4.13 billion kWh at a mechanism price of RMB 0.372997 per kWh. Meanwhile, 16 wind power projects were awarded a total of 0.88 billion kWh, with a mechanism price of RMB 0.393 per kWh.
China Huaneng has brought online a 2 GW photovoltaic project in Bayannur, Inner Mongolia, of which 300 MW of the PV capacity adopts flexible mounting designs. This is said to be the country’s first PV project to deploy flexible mounting structures in a sandland environment. The project is equipped with a 0.3 GW energy storage system.
According to China Huaneng, the flexible mounting structures feature high ground clearance, long spans, and fewer foundations, effectively addressing issues such as subsidence risks and maintenance difficulties commonly associated with conventional fixed structures in sandy terrain.
The project is expected to generate approximately 2.96 billion kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to saving about 0.91 million tonnes of standard coal.
Recently, 2 gigawatt-scale solar power plants at the Yalong River integrated hydro-wind-solar base were commissioned, dubbed as the largest high-altitude PV project in China (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
The Government of Aba County in Sichuan Province has completed the project filing procedures for a total of 1.85 GW of solar PV capacity.
One of the projects is a 1.1 GW project in Chali County, developed by a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG). The project involves a total investment of RMB 4.50 billion. Its first phase, with a capacity of 0.25 GW, was connected to the grid in 2024, while the newly approved filing covers the 0.85 GW second phase.
The other project is a 1 GW PV project in Hezhi County, which will be developed and constructed by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC).
