Solar cell and module maker DMEGC Solar has received the Z-70.3-309 certification from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) for its photovoltaic (PV) overhead applications. The company claims to be the only Tier 1 manufacturer globally to have received this approval. The certification is valid for 5 years, covering both General Technical Approval and General Design Approval. The certification applies to the company’s Greenhouse series glass-glass modules, designed for overhead applications such as solar carports, pergolas, and other integrated PV structures.
Recently, another Chinese manufacturer, Phono Solar, received DIBt certification for its Draco series solar modules (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Heterojunction (HJT) manufacturer Huasun Energy has entered into a tripartite strategic cooperation agreement with Xiamen C&D Emerging Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Xiamen C&D Group, and Talesun Solar. As part of the agreement, Huasun will supply high-efficiency HJT modules, Xiamen C&D Emerging Energy will provide stable financial support and efficient resource allocation, and Talesun Solar will be responsible for acquiring overseas orders, brand promotion, and full lifecycle project services. The partnership aims to promote Huasun’s HJT modules globally through a multi-brand marketing strategy and accelerate international business development.
BOE, a leader in semiconductor display products, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Sichuan Chuantou Energy Co., Ltd. and Chengdu Hi-Tech Development Co., Ltd., both state-owned investing enterprises. The collaboration focuses on developing renewable energy storage demonstration projects, building energy internet infrastructure, and investing in the new energy sector. In the initial phase, the partners will jointly develop an electrochemical energy storage and virtual power plant (VPP) project for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications in the Zero-Carbon Park of Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone. The project will ensure a stable power supply to the park and act as a flexible, dispatchable resource within Chengdu’s virtual power plant network to support demand-side response and address grid stability challenges during peak load periods.
At SNEC 2025 in June, BOE announced that its perovskite BIPV full-scene demonstration project won the first Photovoltaic Building Evaluation Certificate (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Chengdu Jingxin Mingneng Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd., a majority-owned subsidiary of vertically integrated PV manufacturer JA Solar, is advancing an R&D pilot line for crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells. Located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, the company had previously established a new solar cell development line with an R&D output of approximately 3,000 cells per year. Building on this platform, it now plans to invest an additional RMB 19 million ($2.64 million) to expand the facility for tandem module manufacturing. The new facility will focus on R&D of silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells with a planned annual output of 60,000 units. The tandem structure will use a 210 mm × 210 mm HJT bottom cell.
