JinkoSolar achieves 300 GW solar module shipment milestone

Leading solar PV and ESS maker JinkoSolar has announced that it has achieved its third 100 GW milestone with the shipment of its 300th GW solar module from its Shangrao factory. Jinko says it ships 1 GW of modules every 4 days, and it has shipped to nearly 200 countries and regions, serving over 4,000 long-term customers.

Jinko claims its flagship n-type Tiger Neo module has become the world's best-selling solar panel, with over 140 GW sold in just 2 years. The company’s quarterly sales in 2024 exceeded 20 GW, marking 6 consecutive quarters as the global top-selling panel. Jinko’s new-generation Tiger Neo modules boast 24.8% efficiency and a maximum output of 670 W, delivering improved performance and cost-effectiveness. These advancements reinforce Jinko’s leadership in photovoltaic technology and manufacturing, offering high-efficiency solutions to power station customers worldwide.

Internationally, in March 2024, JinkoSolar announced it is setting up its first joint venture factory in Saudi Arabia, with 1st phase housing 10 GW each of TOPCon cell and panel capacity.

JinkoSolar recently announced that it was awarded the inaugural "Belt and Road International Cooperation Award" at the 21st Global Annual Conference of the International Finance Forum (IFF) (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Huasun figures on BNEF Tier 1 list again

Leading heterojunction (HJT) manufacturer Huasun Energy has maintained its position on BloombergNEF’s 4Q 2024 Tier 1 PV Module Maker List, recognized for its high-efficiency HJT solar technology and reliable global partnerships. Huasun says it has delivered over 8 GW of HJT products across 60+ countries, leading the industry.

Huasun said further that this achievement comes despite BNEF’s stricter criteria in 2024, including project-scale requirements and non-recourse financing standards. The company’s vertically integrated production system supports an annual capacity of 20 GW, with deployments in notable projects like a 1.8 GW HJT utility plant in China, a 650 MW HJT tracking project in Bulgaria, and a 20 MW rooftop project in Vietnam.

In 2024, Huasun’s G12-132 module set new benchmarks with 768.938 W power output and 24.75% efficiency, reflecting its commitment to innovation. Huasun remains confident in advancing global clean energy transitions through cutting-edge HJT technology.

Huasun recently won a 500 MW contract for HJT modules in China Huaneng Group's 2024 PV module tender (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

DAS Solar retains BNEF Tier 1 spot

Leading n-type manufacturer DAS Solar has retained its position on BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 PV Module Maker list for Q4 2024. The company says this achievement affirms its global competitiveness and customer trust. The Tier 1 ranking evaluates companies on innovation, execution, financing, and market reliability.

DAS Solar cites its advances in n-type TOPCon technology, including 26.7% cell efficiency and 610.15 W module output, as highlights of fits R&D excellence. The company claims to have over 500 patents and provides solutions like TOPCon 4.0 Plus. It says it is collaborating internationally to push efficiency beyond 40%. The company places sustainability at its core, with a ‘zero-carbon factory’ and green supply chains earning global certifications. It said that its inclusion in the BNEF list underscores its commitment to advancing high-quality, sustainable solar innovation globally.

LONGi chairman increases stake in the company

Vertically integrated leading solar manufacturer LONGi has announced that it has received a notice from its chairman, Baoshen Zhong, indicating his intention to increase his holdings in the company. Chairman Zhong plans to acquire up to RMB 100 million ($13.83 million) of the company's shares within the next 12 months, using his personal and self-raised funds. LONGi emphasized that this increase is a demonstration of Zhong's confidence in the company’s future stability and long-term investment value, aiming to protect shareholder interests and boost investor confidence.

Earlier this month, LONGi Green Energy Technology announced, along with its financial results, that its total solar module shipments during 9M 2024 totaled 51.23 GW (see LONGi’s 9M 2024 Solar Module Shipments Exceeded 50 GW).

Astronergy Supplies 480 MW ASTRO N Modules to Jiugang Group

Chint Group company Astronergy has announced that it has supplied 480 MW of its ASTRO N modules to Jiuquan Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd (JISCO), a Chinese steel enterprise, for its solar plant. This Smart Grid and Local New Energy Consumption Demonstration Project will integrate 1,400 MW of wind power and 1,000 MW of solar PV capacity. The project aims to achieve local consumption of new energy and clean energy substitution through JISCO's self-owned power generation units and peak-load management. Astronergy provided 240 MW of ASTRO N5 modules for the second phase and 240 MW of ASTRO N7 modules for the third phase. The ASTRO N7 modules, which feature large rectangular silicon wafers, SMBB (super multi busbar), dual-layer coated glass, and gap film technologies, achieve a high module efficiency of 23.3%.

Polyshine announces 3 GW lightweight module project

Chinese PC (polycarbonate) material manufacturer Polyshine has announced its plans to invest in the construction of a 3 GW high-efficiency lightweight solar module manufacturing facility in Jiande City, Zhejiang Province. It will invest a total of RMB 1 billion ($138.28 million) in this facility, which will also include supporting transparent composite materials as well as an advanced polymer materials facility. The construction is expected to take 5 years, with Phase I investment totaling RMB 600 million ($82.97 million). The main part of the plant is expected to be completed and begin operations by March 2026.
