Hopewind ranks among Top 5 in China’s PCS installed power capacity

Renewable energy solutions provider and solar inverter manufacturer Hopewind has announced that it has secured a top-5 position in China’s power conversion system (PCS) installed capacity, as reported by the China Electricity Council and the National Electrochemical Energy Storage Station Safety Monitoring Information Platform. The 2024 report highlights Hopewind’s significant contributions across grid, power generation, and consumer applications, with successful deployments in challenging environments, including coastal, offshore, and desert regions. Hopewind’s PCS solutions power projects with peak-valley arbitrage, demand management, and smart grid integration. The company says that its 2.5 MW PCS has achieved mass shipments, while the 1,500 V string PCS system, certified for global markets, offers compact, high-efficiency solutions for large-scale renewable projects.

Earlier this year, Hopewind was named as a finalist for The smarter E AWARD 2024 (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Huasun wins POWERCHINA’s 1 GW HJT module bid

Chinese power developer POWERCHINA has announced the results of the bid for the first batch of its 2024 centralized procurement for 1.5GW of n-type heterojunction (HJT) solar modules. The bid was divided into 3 packages of 500 MW each for bifacial double-glass HJT modules with a power output of 710 Wp and above. According to the bid results, Huasun Energy won Package 1 and Package 2, totaling 1 GW, with bid prices of RMB 0.846/W ($0.1188/W) and 0.857/W ($0.1203/W), respectively. The tender for Package 3 was canceled. Huasun is the winner among the 4 companies shortlisted by POWERCHINA recently (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Risen Energy awarded EcoVadis 2024 Silver Medal

Solar module manufacturer Risen Energy has announced that it has been awarded the Silver Medal in the 2024 EcoVadis Sustainability Rating, placing it in the top 9% of its global industry peers rated by EcoVadis. The company said it was rated highly in the ‘Labor and Human Rights’ category, achieving 80 points out of 100. EcoVadis assesses companies on 4 themes – environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement – across 21 specific criteria. The rating evaluates how well a company integrates sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) principles into its business management practices. Risen Energy stated that receiving the EcoVadis Silver Medal is a result of the company's persistent efforts in the field of sustainability.

Risen Energy recently introduced its latest heterojunction (HJT) module, named Hyper-ion Pro, rated with a power output of 720 W and an efficiency of 23.5% (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Arctech plans to raise RMB 1.1 billion for tracker and verification projects

Solar tracker manufacturer Arctech Solar has announced that it plans to raise up to RMB 1.10129 billion ($154.79 million) through a targeted A-share issuance. After deducting issuance expenses, the funds will be allocated to 4 projects and used as supplementary working capital. These projects include:

  • Expansion of parallel drive capacity for solar trackers, aiming to build an additional production capacity of 540,000 units annually (corresponding to a supporting solar installation capacity of about 8 GW) at its existing base in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province.

  • Construction of a photovoltaic accessory industrial park in Susong County, Anqing City, Anhui Province, to expand the production capacity of its existing zinc-aluminum-magnesium brackets and add new capacity for flexible brackets, with a designed capacity of 3 GW upon completion.

  • Construction of a tracking bracket production and verification base in Inner Mongolia, adding an annual production capacity of 3 GW for trackers and building a comprehensive technical verification test base for real-world scenarios.

  • Construction of an R&D laboratory in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, focusing on technological advancements in the tracker industry.
