As solar penetration rises, project developers are facing tighter grid availability, curtailment, and pressure on project economics, making flexibility and smarter plant design increasingly important. The TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Solar & Storage Power Plant Developments will bring together developers, EPCs, procurement managers, and technology suppliers to discuss how battery storage, advanced trackers, high-power modules, hybrid generation, and other plant-level technologies are shaping the next generation of utility-scale solar projects.
Savek Dubey, Technical Manager at Sungrow, will present: Integrating Solar and Storage Through Smart Electronic Systems.
The conference is scheduled from 09:30 to 13:00 CEST on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Register for free here.
JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. plans to rename itself Jinko Holdings Limited, reflecting a broader role for the US-listed parent. The proposal requires shareholder approval at the company’s annual general meeting on October 21, 2026, followed by regulatory procedures. Its American depositary shares are expected to continue trading on the NYSE under the JKS ticker.
The company said it will operate through two complementary businesses. Its industrial holdings arm will retain controlling ownership of Shanghai-listed Jinko Solar Co., Ltd. (SSE: 688223), whose integrated solar and energy storage operations will remain the group’s core business. Meanwhile, the parent will expand strategic minority investments in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, advanced materials, commercial space and other frontier technologies. Its current portfolio includes Moonshot AI, StepFun, SiliconFlow, Noetix Robotics, Taiyi Quantum, and Janbon Metallic Materials.
JinkoSolar was tied with LONGi at the top of InfoLink Consulting’s solar module shipment ranking for H1 2026 (see JinkoSolar’s Overseas Shipments Reach 70% In H1 2026)
The New Energy Industry Development Research Institute under the Chinese Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute (EPPEI) is preparing to build a high-altitude outdoor field-test project for perovskite-silicon tandem PV modules in Delingha, Qinghai province. The institute describes it as China’s first field-test project of its kind.
The project will test two-terminal (2T) tandem modules alongside four-terminal (4T) tandem, perovskite single-junction, and crystalline silicon single-junction modules at the same site. It will assess power generation performance, operating reliability, and environmental adaptability under Delingha’s high-altitude conditions, including high solar irradiance, intense UV exposure, large temperature swings, wind, and sand.
The project is intended to provide outdoor performance data for the engineering application of tandem PV technology and equipment selection for large-scale renewable energy bases in desert, Gobi, and other arid regions.
PV glass manufacturer Ancai Hi-Tech (ACHT) has signed a letter of intent with its controlling shareholder, Henan Investment Group Co., Ltd., to sell float glass, pharmaceutical glass, and other non-core assets through a non-public negotiated cash transfer to Henan Investment Group or a third party it designates. The proposed disposal covers equity interests in six companies, claims against them, and physical assets and related rights associated with ACHT’s borosilicate pharmaceutical glass project.
The company said the divestment is intended to streamline its business structure and ease operating pressure. Following completion, ACHT plans to focus primarily on its core PV glass and piped natural gas businesses.
Earlier this year, ACHT signed a letter of intent to acquire a 51% stake in Hongnuo Technology (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Inverter and energy storage manufacturer Sungrow will raise prices for selected PV inverter and energy storage products from September 20. According to Chinese financial news outlet CLS, the adjustments cover multiple product lines, including PV inverters, energy storage PCS, and energy storage systems (ESS), with increases ranging from 5% to 15%.
The company attributed the adjustments mainly to higher prices for raw materials including copper, aluminum, tin, and silver, along with tighter supplies of key components.
Since July, several other energy storage supply-chain companies, including Kstar, East Group, and EVE Energy, have also announced price increases. The adjustments vary by company and product, ranging from about 2% to 30%.
Sungrow subsidiary Sungrow Renewables recently commissioned a 200 MW/400 MWh energy storage plant in Hefei, Anhui Province (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
