Anesco has established Anesco Germany and is building a 49.9 MW solar project in the UK; LichtBlick to invest in German solar and wind projects; DEAC is building a solar powered datacenter in Latvia; Matrix secures funding for 129 MW Spanish solar from Natixis.

Anesco forays into German market: UK based solar and storage company Anesco has ventured into the German market with the launch of its local presence Anesco Germany, and acquired Aeos Energy. The latter is active into development, construction and operation of solar and onshore wind energy projects with 55 sites under operational management. Anesco Germany will build on the strengths of both the companies and offer site development, design and construction as well as conduct operation and maintenance (O&M) services. Anesco Germany will be headed by Aeos Founder and MD Guido Fiebes.

49.9 MW UK solar farm under construction: EDF Renewables’ Sutton Bridge Solar Park in the UK with 49.9 MW capacity has entered construction stage. Anesco is constructing the facility calling it the company’s ‘largest scale’ project to date.

LichtBlick to invest €500 million in wind and solar parks: German utility LichtBlick says it will invest €500 million in German wind and solar parks, along with its parent company Eneco, in the next 5 years. Initial solar parks are expected to come online in 2022, and by 2026 it aims to operate up to 1 GW capacity in the country. It currently also procures electricity from 116 wind farms and 8 solar parks.

Solar power for Latvian datacenter: European data center operator DEAC says it is building a large new data center in Latvia, with 10 MW capacity to be powered entirely by renewable energy in the form of onsite solar PV panels. Backup power will be supplied by My Neste Diesel. DEAC says DEAC Riga Datacenter will be one of the most sustainable data centers in Northern Europe, pitching it as an attractive location for companies to use it as an outsourcing center, data back office and IT function consolidation.

Matrix secures financing for 129 MW solar: Matrix Renewables has signed a new long term financing agreement with Natixis for a 129 MW solar PV plant in Huelva’s Almonte in Spain. The green loan will help Matrix realize the capacity as 3 plants with storage to be added after commissioning. Project is expected to come online in Q1/2023.
