INA Solar and Caelux plan to commercialize 3 GW of hybrid-tandem solar modules over five years
The partnership will cover technology validation, manufacturing readiness, and regulatory requirements, including India’s ALMM
Caelux says its contracted volume with module manufacturers globally now exceeds 25 GW
Insolation Energy Limited (INA Solar) has entered into a partnership with US-based Caelux Corporation to commercialize 3 GW Hybrid-Tandem solar modules, targeting an efficiency of up to 29% by 2028.
Under the agreement, INA Solar will use Caelux’s proprietary Energy Producing Glass technology by applying a Caelux-supplied perovskite-based power-generating glass layer on its TOPCon solar cells.
The duo claims this integration will boost energy generation, increase energy density, and reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE). INA Solar has entered the partnership through its subsidiary Insolation Green Energy Private Limited.
Over their five-year partnership, the two companies will work on technology validation, manufacturing readiness, and applicable regulatory approvals, including Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) requirements.
Vikas Jain, Managing Director of Insolation Energy Limited, said this partnership strengthens its focus on building an integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem.
Currently, Jaipur-headquartered INA Solar operates a combined annual module production capacity of 5.5 GW, producing modules ranging from 500 W to 635 W output with a focus on TOPCon and Mono PERC technologies. It is also developing a 4.5 GW TOPCon solar cell facility and an 18,000 MTA aluminum frame facility in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh.
Speaking with TaiyangNews at the recently concluded Renewable Energy India (REI) 2026, INA Solar’s Chief Business Officer (CBO) Abhishek Kaushal shared that the aluminum frame manufacturing facility will have sufficient capacity to cover 4.5 GW to 5.0 GW of its in-house needs (see Live Blog: October 22-24, 2026: Renewable Energy India Expo 2026).
For Caelux, this is yet another partnership targeting the India market. Earlier this year, it entered similar partnerships with Rayzon Solar and Navitas Solar for 5 GW each, and with GREW Solar for 4 GW capacity (see GREW Solar Explores Perovskite-Tandem Market With 4 GW Deal).
Caelux Corporation CEO Scott Graybeal said the company’s global contracted volume with module manufacturers now exceeds 25 GW.
