NVVN wants land for solar power projects: A subsidiary of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN) has launched a tender seeking land to set up solar power plants under Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojna (MSKVY) in the state of Maharashtra. It is open to leasing the land for 30 years or purchase it from private land owners, registered farmer producer organization, entrepreneurs, consortiums, companies, cooperative societies, registered NGOs, trust, government agencies, government companies, among others. Minimum land required is 9 acres, and a maximum of 45 acres at a single location.
NVVN will select suitable land to participate in auction to be conducted by MSEDCL to supply power to agricultural consumers. If NVVN is selected under the MSEDCL auction, it will enter into formal lease or purchase agreement for selected land. The expression of interest (EOI) was launched on June 7, 2021, and is open to bids till June 17, 2021. The EOI details are available on NTPC's eprocurement website as EOI No.: EOI/LAND-01/MSEDCL.
Tata Power providing green power in Mumbai: More than 37 of its consumers in Mumbai have opted to procure 100% green power from Tata Power, the company stated. The list comprises some of the leading IT firms, banks and consumer business groups in the city. Such consumers are now paying green tariff and have been sent their 1st green bill for the month of May 2021. Tata Power said it initiated the process of empowering its customers with sustainable green growth from April 2021. The company said it provides its customer base with new green offerings like solar microgrids, electric vehicle charging and solar rooftop services. Tata Power's currently has 3.9 GW of solar, wind, hydro and waste heat recovery as clean energy generation technologies accounting for 31% of its total portfolio.
50 MW solar power tender in Manipur: The Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA) has launched a tender to secure a developer to set up 50 MW grid connected solar power project at Jairolpokpi in Manipur's Jiribam. It needs to be set up on build-own-operate (BOO) basis with tariffs capped at INR 3.00 per kWh. Successful developer will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with state discom MSPDCL. MANIREDA says it has identified government owned land parcel of 234.24 acres for the 50 MW project to be leased to successful developer for 30 years. Last date to submit bids is July 9, 2021 for the tender launched on June 2, 2021, according to the tender documents.
