234 MW AC floating solar project: TrueRE Oriana Power, the EPC player, will build a 234 MW AC grid-tied floating solar PV power plant at the Maithon Dam Reservoir of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) in Jharkhand. It received the purchase orders for the project from a renewable energy developer with a total contract price of INR 1,180.53 crore, the company announced. It will be responsible for design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the project. TrueRE Oriana called it one of the largest floating solar PV projects in the country. It will need to be commissioned within 18 months. India solar import-export in Q4 2025: India’s total solar cell and module imports in Q4 2025 increased by 55.6% year-on-year (YoY) and 34.4% on a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, worth over $1.12 billion. China was the largest supplier with a 59.6% share, according to the Department of Commerce data, collated by Mercom India Research. Cells comprised 79.2% of the total imports, while modules made up 20.8% share. The increase was mainly due to the lack of cell availability in the domestic market, the latter observes, and the fact that the majority of integrated manufacturers use their cell capacity for captive consumption. The upcoming Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II for solar cells from June 1, 2026, is also accelerating cell imports. On the other hand, India’s cell and module exports were worth over $100.21 million, representing a decline of 52.8% YoY and 70.9% QoQ. Solar cell exports dropped by 85.2% and module exports 70.6%. The decline was owing to growing global trade restrictions and weaker demand. The US was the largest destination, accounting for over 96% of shipments.
Microinverter order for Hoymiles: Hoymiles Power Electronics, the global module-level power electronics (MLPE) and energy storage solutions provider from China, recently announced landing what it termed the largest-single microinverter deal in India. It will supply 360 MW of the company’s high-performance HMS series microinverters to Kosol Energie for deployment in residential rooftop solar projects in Andhra Pradesh under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY). The HMS series comes with multiple MPPTs for maximum power production for each module, rapid shutdown compliance, and other features, explained Hoymiles.
250 MW project online: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), the NTPC Limited subsidiary, has commissioned 91.6 MW solar PV capacity, which is part of a 250 MW project in Andhra Pradesh. This brings the entire 250 MW project online since it recently started commercial operations of 158.4 MW capacity for Ayana Kadapa Renewable Power Private Limited (see India Solar PV News Snippets). NTPC says its cumulative installed capacity now stands at 88.3 GW, while commercial capacity is 87.2 GW.
South Korean companies enter solar PPAs: Independent power producer (IPP) Sunsure Energy has signed long-term solar power purchase agreements (PPA) with the Indian subsidiaries of South Korean companies. Under the PPA with automotive components company Daeseung Autoparts India, Sunsure will supply 8 million units of clean energy to the former’s Kanchipuram facility from its 75 MW Ilayangudi Solar Plant. This can help Daeseung meet 60% of its energy demand through clean power. It will supply 4.7 million units annually to Ilgahng Automotive for its Kanchipuram facility from the same project.
Additionally, Sunsure Thirty Eight Private Limited, a Sunsure Energy subsidiary, is selling 26.20% of its equity shares to UltraTech Cement. The deal, worth INR 6.72 crore, will make UltraTech a stakeholder in a 21 MW DC/14 MW AC solar power project that Sunsure Solarpark is setting up for captive consumption of UltraTech in Dhule, Maharashtra. It will also establish an integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) with the solar project.
INA Solar migrates to BSE, NSE Main Boards: Jaipur-based solar manufacturer Insolation Energy Limited (INA Solar) has migrated from the SME platform to the main boards of BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India, with 220.39 million equity shares (INR 1 face value) listed for trading from March 9, 2026. The company, which was earlier listed on the BSE SME platform, said the move marks a key milestone in its growth journey and is expected to enhance its market visibility and investor base. INA Solar has module manufacturing capacity of 5.5 GW and is developing a 4.5 GW solar cell manufacturing plant along with an aluminum frame unit in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh (see INR 11.34 Billion IREDA Loan For 4.5 GW Solar Cell Factory).
