Montenegro’s State Utility EPCG Launches Tender To Procure Solar PV Modules, Inverters & Smart Meters For Self-Consumption Category

Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG), the state electricity utility of Montenegro has launched a solicitation process to procure monocrystalline solar modules, inverters and smart meter 3-phase meters, PV system substructure, and energy infrastructure and protective equipment. The tender has a budget of €19.9 million.

The tender specifies 4 lots for the above 4 categories which will be used by the utility for Solari 3000+ and Solari 500+ programs with system capacity of up to 30 kW. As the name suggests, these programs will support over 3,000 homes install solar panels under Solari 3000+ scheme, and more than 500 small businesses and public institutions will get state support for the same to encourage self-generation and consumption of solar power. Excess energy generated will be sold to the EPCG.

Tender details are available on EPCG’s website that mentions October 25, 2021 as the last date for bid submission.

In August 2021, the EPCG attracted 8 interested bidders for the €30 million auction round.

The Government of Montenegro, in July 2021, said it won’t be encouraging construction of new renewable energy facilities since it had met the national target of achieving 33% renewables share in the total energy consumption (see Montenegro To Pull Back Support For Renewable Energy).
