US based global solar tracker manufacturer Nextracker Inc; and electrical, safety and infrastructure solutions Atkore announced a new dedicated manufacturing line in Arizona to produce steel trackers components for utility-scale solar plants. Atkore has reconfigured and expanded its Phoenix Arizona facility for Nextracker products.

This production line comes close to the announcement Nextracker had made in April, when the market leader in this solar segment had shared news about the opening of its Texas production line, launched by steel maker JM Steel to ensure low-carbon tracker supply within the southern part of the country (see Nextracker Opens New Production Line In US) With this second line now, Nextracker further strengthens its commitment to building a more resilient supply chain to support the growing solar power market in US.

Speaking about the development, founder and CEO of Nextracker Dan Shugar said, “Building out our manufacturing capacity with partners across the US allows us to protect customers from cost volatility, steel supply risk and delays in logistics. Partnering with Atkore in Phoenix ensures that best in class product is available to enable the demand to be served with clean, affordable solar power.”

Meanwhile, President and CEO of Atkore Bill Waltz said, “Atkore’s new production line is dedicated to Nextracker and will help them quickly deploy their cutting-edge solar technology across the Southern and Southwestern US.”

Through this partnership, Nextracker will have a dedicated supply of critical materials in the Southwestern US solar market and will be well-positioned to support key customers such as Arizona Public Service Cos (APS).

APS President Ted Geisler commented that the expansion of the manufacturing capacity with Nextracker and Atkore complemented the solar program that they have been advancing for decades to serve Arizona’s growing energy demand.
