CIM commissions 250 MW PV in California: Real estate company CIM Group has commissioned a 250 MW solar project within Westlands Solar Park (WSP) in California, one of the largest permitted solar parks in the US. The 250 MW Aquamarine Solar Project is the 1st utility scale solar project within WSP, according to CIM, and will supply power to the Californian grid, under power purchase agreement (PPA) for renewable energy credits associated with 75 MW to Sacramento Municipal Utility District, 50 MW to Valley Clean Energy Alliance, and 75 MW to the City of Santa Clara, CA (Silicon Valley Power) under power purchase agreement (PPA) signed. The WSP is permitted to host more than 2.7 GW of renewable energy at full build-out, covering over 20,000 acres in San Joaquin Valley in western Fresno and Kings Counties. Power generated here will be used to meet electricity needs of public and private utilities, businesses and other energy consumers.
FTC Solar’s trackers for 88 MW Australian project: US based solar tracker maker FTC Solar has secured the contract to supply its 2P Voyager tracker for Australia’s APA Group’s 88 MW PV project. The facility will be located in Mica Creek of Queensland, Australia and the order represents FTC’s largest project to date outside the US. FTC said it has till now delivered more than 2.5 GW of its trackers, including the Voyager+ solution for large format modules that it launched in early 2021. Greenbacker acquires 16.3 MW DC rooftop PV: Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company LLC has acquired 16.3 MW DC operational solar portfolio from ECA Solar in Massachusetts, US. These 16 rooftop solar projects are all operational and range between 0.3 MW DC to 4.2 MW DC capacity. Of these 1.9 MW DC Holliston and 1.2 MW DC Wilmington assets also have panel arrays on adjacent parking structures. The facilities have a long-term offtake contract in place with businesses, utilities, municipalities and local government agencies. “Located in Massachusetts, the portfolio comprises 16 rooftop solar projects that benefit from supportive state renewable energy policies, allowing it to provide cheaper clean power to the Greater Boston area,” stated Greenbacker.
