  • He will take on this additional role from Bartosz Fedurek from May 1, 2024
  • Vinagre will continue to operate as the company's executive director for Business Development in North and Central Europe

The renewable energy arm of Portuguese utility Energias de Portugal (EDP), EDP Renewables (EDPR) has announced the departure of Bartosz Fedurek as the country manager of its business in Poland. He is being replaced by Pedro Vinagre.

Currently, the company's Executive Director for Business Development in North and Central Europe, Vinagre will take on the additional role of Interim Country Manager when he joins the new position on May 1, 2024.

In this additional role, Vinagre will spearhead efforts to cultivate sustainable and efficient growth of the company in Poland and other European nations.

Vinagre has been working with the EDP group for over 14 years now and has a strong knowledge of the Polish renewables sector, says EDPR. This knowledge will come in handy as the company strategically expands its footprint in the market.

EDPR has an installed renewables capacity of around 800 MW in Poland, including one of the country's largest installed solar power plants Przykona with 200 MW DC/153 MW AC capacity. In 2023, it also commissioned what it says is the country's 1st wind and solar hybrid farm (see Europe Solar PV News Snippets).

Poland is a 17 GW strong solar PV market already. It aims to expand its PV capacity to 27 GW by 2030 and 45 GW by 2040 (see Solar's Share Improves In Poland's PEP 2040).
