Florian van Rijn van Alkemade having led Netherlands-based Eternal Sun Group since 2016, steps down
During his tenure, the company acquired the metrology division of Spire Solar, China-based SunChine, and Germany’s WAVELABS, strengthening its testing and characterization portfolio
Eternal Sun’s new CEO Fokko van der Zee will now build on this growth as the company gets ready for tandem technology
Eternal Sun Group, the solar testing and metrology company from the Netherlands, has announced a leadership transition. Its long term CEO Florian van Rijn van Alkemade has handed over the reins of the company to Fokko van der Zee.
Van Rijn van Alkemade was at the helm of affairs at Eternal Sun for a decade, since 2016. He is credited with leading the company's expansion to 6 countries across 3 continents and increasing the strength of full-time employees (FTE) from 18 to 145.
Under his leadership, the Dutch spin-off from Delft University of Technology made some strategic acquisitions including the metrology division of US solar equipment firm Spire Solar, China-based factory-inspection services provider SunChine, and German LED cell metrology company WAVELABS (see Eternal Sun Acquires WAVELABS; Launches Subsidiary).
With these acquisitions, Bolster Investment Partners-backed Eternal Sun now offers a complete range of testing and characterization equipment, covering everything from solar cells to full modules.
As Van Rijn van Alkemade looks at opportunities outside the Dutch group, the new CEO, Van der Zee, will build on the progress achieved by the company.
Eternal Sun CTO Stefan Roest said, “The future is tandem, and here we have just the technology to lead. I’m excited to welcome Van der Zee as CEO, helping expand the global impact of our solar simulation, testing, and in-line characterization solutions for cells and modules.”
