  • Both Matt Brost and Ellen Struck have joined the company as vice presidents

  • Previously they worked with SunPower Corporation in its new homes business

US’ leading residential solar, storage and energy services company Sunrun has welcomed 2 former SunPower Corporation senior executives Matt Brost and Ellen Struck for its new homes division as vice presidents.

At SunPower, Brost worked for 18 years, most recently as its vice president for New Homes Sales. Sunrun said he established partnerships with many top US builders and completed over 125,000 new solar homes for its former employer.

Struck moves to Sunrun after having served as the vice president of Channel Operations at SunPower for the latter’s new homes division. An MBA from Northwestern University, Struck has over 16 years of energy and solar industry experience.

Both these new hires will work in Sunrun’s new homes business, which the company says has been its strong strategic growth route for years. Sunrun’s President and Chief Revenue Officer Paul Dickson said the company is rapidly growing its new homes channel.

“The addition of top talent underscores Sunrun’s focus on partnering with home builders to offer solar-plus-storage systems to new home buyers. The strategy is part of Sunrun’s broader momentum of strong market leadership across multiple segments, including its dealer business,” stated the management.

Once an industry pioneer, SunPower is slowly turning into the proverbial sinking ship after the management informed its dealers and clients of halting some of its operations. This is leading to a ripple effect for the dealers in its portfolio as Renova Energy has also decided to shut down temporarily. Industry experts believe SunPower dealers will be moving to other lease providers (see SunPower Going Down, Taking Renova Energy & Parts Of US Market With It).
