Ex-SunPower Senior Executive Joins Matrix Renewables’ US Office To Help Expand Internationally

Spain-headquartered global renewable energy platform Matrix Renewables recently announced a new appointment to the executive leadership team. Giora Salita is the group's new Chief Operating Officer (COO). 

Salita joins the group with over 17 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. He also spent 19 years in the technology industry before that. 

He was an independent angel investor before joining Matrix and also advised companies new to the renewable energy and climate tech domain. 

Salita also worked in senior leadership roles in various companies including Etrion Corporation, SunPower Corporation and Sunray Renewables. At SunPower, he was the EVP business development.  

At Matrix, Salita will be based out of the group's US office in Miami, Florida. Matrix purchased a 4.6 GW utility-scale solar PV project portfolio in the US in 2022 (see Spanish Company Acquires 4.6 GW US Solar PV Portfolio).  

He said, "I'm looking forward to continuing to develop Matrix Renewables' global platform and accelerating its scalability in each domain of the value chain from development to operations."  

Matrix is backed by The Rise Fund—an $18 billion global impact investing platform of TPG Rise. Focused on Europe, North America and Latin American markets, Matrix touts a portfolio of 14 GW in renewable energy storage and green hydrogen projects.  

"With the addition of Salita and a number of ongoing initiatives, the organization plans to materially increase its global operating assets portfolio as well as projects under construction in the next few years," stated Matrix.
