Gensol Engineering Limited, the Indian EPC services provider under Gensol Group, has announced the appointment of Kapil K Nirmal as the company's new chief executive officer (CEO) for its Middle East, Solar EPC business.

Nirmal brings to the company his extensive experience in the Middle East, where he has worked with several companies in the energy sector. He was the head of Business Development Solar for Northern Emirates and Abu Dhabi with the Emirates Electrical Engineering for over 2 years.

In one of his previous roles, he worked as the vice president of International Business Development with Amplus Solar.

Part of India's Gensol Group, Gensol Engineering says Nirmal has experience in creating strategies for developing over 5 GW of solar PV projects globally, along with design and engineering experience of over 1 GW PV.

Gensol's solar PV portfolio in India exceeds 600 MW for a variety of segments and clients. It is now exploring the Middle Eastern solar market that's growing significantly in the space. In August 2023, it bagged 2 government solar projects in Dubai, for the Dubai Government Workshop Warehouse and Dubai Police. Back then, it said the company will announce multiple orders in the coming months.

A year back in March 2023, Gensol acquired Indian solar tracker specialist Scoprius Trackers with business operations in the Middle East along with Japan and Africa (see India PV News Snippets).

In his new role at Gensol, Nirmal will spearhead the region's expansion for Gensol, navigating market complexities, ensuring sustainable growth, establishing the company as a prominent player in the Middle East solar PV sector, stated the management.

"We at Gensol are at a hyper-growth phase, with trust and commitment shown on us in India, the initial successes in UAE, and Nirmal's appointment will help us continue our strategic growth and expansion in the Middle East," says Gensol Engineering's Managing Director, Anmol Singh Jaggi.
