JA Solar Technology, one of the world’s leading solar PV manufacturers with over 100 GW annual module capacity, has appointed Wang Junsheng as the President of the group’s energy storage business division, JA Solar Energy Storage Co., Ltd. The management calls it a key step in the professional, large-scale, and global development of the company’s energy storage business.

“Energy storage is not only an extension of JA Solar’s photovoltaic sector, but also a core strategic direction for JA Solar to create a second growth curve and build future competitiveness in the face of global energy transformation,” said JA Solar Energy Storage Chairman Jin Junhui.

An engineer by qualification, Junsheng brings 18 years of experience in the energy, power, and new energy industry to the company, along with extensive management experience, according to JA Solar.

He previously worked with several national and international companies, gaining experience in the industry, market operations, product and capacity planning, and construction. The company shared that Junsheng has been deeply involved in the formulation of multiple industry standards. He is also contributing to the standardization and high-quality development of the energy storage industry.

In his new role, Junsheng will work towards the global market expansion and large-scale project delivery of the company’s energy storage business as the group positions itself as a leading global green energy solutions partner.

“Energy storage is becoming a key support for the construction of new power systems and will also be a core area of competition as the global energy transition enters its more complex phase,” added Junsheng.

The Founder and Chairman of the Board of the company, Baofang Jin, launched JA Solar in 1996 with an initial focus on the silicon ingot and wafer business. In 2005, it expanded into solar cells, and later in 2010 into module manufacturing. The company forayed into the energy storage business in November 2025 with the launch of JA Energy Storage.

JA Solar’s Energy Storage Business Unit represented the company at the March 25, 2026, TaiyangNews Smarter Solar for Homes & Businesses Conference with Ryan Zhao emphasizing the benefits of integrated solar and storage systems (see How Storage Is Altering PV Project Economics).
